The most popular cryptid here is... -sigh- the chupacabra. The whole fad in the 90's started in my hometown and way too much tax money went into trying to hunt it down. So I'm always on the fence when it comes to it-----even if I based traits on the main in my comic2, ironically.
We have a few others like El Vampiro de Moca (The Moca Vampire), and this giant bird I forgot from which town, but I'm more well-versed in the Arawak/Taíno mythology since I did a lot of research about it in my comic (which some things are basically a retelling of some myths, mainly involving the god of the dead, Makeautaurie Guayaba and Atabey)
But if you have any questions about that, I'd be happy to tell ya : D I'm honestly a cryptid/monster fan myself, so I tend to research a few, and I'm going to admit one of my favorites is the mothman |'D
I love that sort of thing! A lot of my love for folklore and mythology -- especially with regards to creatures rare and common alike -- informs and influences my comic Demoniac Verse2! I love your painted style and the enthusiasm that's easy to see from the slightest glimpse at each page! I can tell you have such a passion and delight in you for the subject, and that's so rare for any comic or creative work.
I would love to see more series incorporate this kind of interest! I've always had a love for the creatures of the supernatural!

Lmao I actually grew up in WV, closer to the Flatwoods monster but Mothman and Sheepsquatch where pretty popular local tales too! that god damn MM statue they put up in point pleasant is legendary levels of both amazing and terrible.
Of course most people know about the Chupacabra, it's so wide spread! but theres very few surviveing vampire stories around in North America today so the Moca Vamp is something I'll have to go research! most of the vampiric stories at least in the us are either in New Orleans or rooted in colonial times misinterpretation of Tuberculosis(they did call it consumption for a reason! it appeared that people would just slowly drain away!) The Lore podcast has done a couple great episodes on the topic!

And ye, i've heard of both the flatwoods monster and sheepsquatch, that's awesome C: (and I agree wholeheartedly on the MM statue being both amazing and terrible.) I'd really love to go to the museum or at least get a miniature statue they have.
As for the Moca Vampire, it started in the 70's, and PR tends to mainly associate things with aliens since we have a lot of UFO sightings (nevermind that we just had a lot of US military bases stationed around the island)

But yeah there are some really tragic cases where a person died of tuberculosis or other sadly common diseases of the time and colonial citizens would panic and rely on their old European folk tales and assume that whoever died first in said outbreak was CLEARLY a vampire and causing all this! especially in cases where it was family! its all super fascinating.
Mine is about ghosts or not really but kind of zombie like animal things. It's not like the typical ghost or zombie comic, but maybe you would enjoy it.

Ah this is so cool! I love Cryptozoology. Actually one of my main characters is my favorite Cryptid: The Wolpertinger1. There may or may not be a host of Cryptids yet to come. XD I'm a huge fan of them so, I've practically got a mental Rolodex filled with different monsters. Some of these monsters include, but aren't limited to:

Okay, haha I won't flood you completely. I just love these cool kinds of monsters and legends. They're just too fun!
Well my main series deals with demons, BUT I have more "grounded" entities in Erie Waters.
One of the characters is based on a Great Lakes legend of a big black dog that foretold the doom of ships sailing there.
And there are ghosts in it. I do love history.
You might possibly be interested in my comic Dreamwalker Felix. So far there have only been ghosts, but there will be much more in the future.
Dreamwalker Felix is about a grumpy teenage boy who has green hair, a banjo, can see supernatural entities that others cannot, and at the start of the comic discovers an uncontrollable and dangerous ability to enter the dreams of those around him. How are all these things linked? Are they? Well you'll just have to find out!

i loooove this stuff too. and thats partly why i subbed to yer comic a little while ago! i wanna make a comic about supernaturaly stuff when im done with the one i have now. but i know another comic called Of Fairies and Ghosts that i dont think anyone brought up yet and it has a buncha cool stuff in it (like fairies and ghosts)
ALSO i listen to a podcast thats hecka rad called bizarre states which is aaaalll about cryptids and ghosts and witches. so if youre lookin for somethin for your ears to do while youre drawing then you should try listenin to it

Welcome Back Series is an old comic of mine that deals with a weird dream anomaly where people can share dreams and strange mythological creatures inhabit dreams, various references to conspiracies (illuminati and morgellons), alien like creatures from other dimensions, occult, cryptids and brainwashing.
All Broken Gods is my newest and most up to date work. It's still in it's earliest stages but later it delves into demons and supernatural. It's a fantasy mostly.
Oooo, I love the supernatural! I've always been interested in myths and unexplained phenomena since I was a kid. I used to read all sorts of books on superstition and folklore.
I have a comic in its early stages called Wayward2. It's a ghost story about some wayward souls and their misadventures, and has a strong focus on the supernatural. Feel free to take a look if it's up your alley. ^^
Universe Jumper is a supernatural story about ghosts in purgatory. It's current chapter is soon going to get dark.
My comic Lacrim1, is a cryptic horror mystery story which aims to unravel the secrets behind a terrifying group of creatures called Lacrim before it is too late and all is gone.

Fear Full1 is newer, pretty damn nice looking creepy comic, that definitely has some creep beings in it.
Lacrim1 is also one good creature feature that's quite interesting read.
And then there's my own (hehe smooth transition 
) comic Numb, it has ghosts and some other otherwordly stuff that hasn't been fully uncovered yet!
The comic I work on, Legio Arcana, is all about the supernatural.

I did a comic a few years ago about the Jersey Devil and I'll be doing more in the future (focusing on New Jersey, but will probably expand in further issues).
I'd love to do a Mothman, Champ, or like a Dover Demon story. There's just too much!
i remember once reading about cryptids in london; my city.
theres a phanton night bus in ladbroke grove, north west. a speeding double-decker bus in the small hours that disappears as fast as it appears. snot been seen since 1990 apparently
highgate cemetery, north, had many reports of a vampire in the 60s, which hovered above the ground and hypnotised people that crossed it. in the 70s the corpse of a woman was dragged from a tomb and a steak driven through her heart - fucking creepy. theres a ghost chicken in highgate too.
im not that fussed about cryptids, generally, but i do like ghosts and vampires. one of my faaaaaaavourite comics on here is about a bunch of vampires on a mission to become human, and escape the robots built to slay them. its called spire, and i think itd be right up your street.
you also might like rain boots and mandrake roots, about a witch and a dragon (that shapeshifts into a human) growing up in a mundane suburb. its got a great mix of original world building and referencing real-life magical tradition. i think its on hiatus rn?
also the sisters has mothman in like, the first chapter, and is generally abt this ballsy 3 sisters, witches, fighting satanists and monsters in - again - the suburbs. you can tell i like that mundane-magic mix.
