Describe your drawing style

Hi beautiful people! So I was wondering... What is your drawing style like? Are you being influence by other artists, series, or just naturally developing your own style?

As for me: I have always been a big fan of anime but I was taught to draw realistically in school. So, my style has always been kind of... Weird. It's not really realistic, but not completely like anime either. What's yours?

As most people's are these days, my style is heavily influenced by anime and video games, specifically the styles of Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, etc.) and Takeshi Obata (Bakuman, Death Note, Hikaru No Go, etc.).

Very clean and exact and bold linework, but with very rugged and depthful portrayals of emotions, especially in the eyes (dem are Obata eyes).

I definitely have a cartoony style, I love exaggerated proportions. I try to do fluid linework but I'm still finding what works.

My art style was almost realistic but that became too cumbersome and slow me down, now its more of a hybrid american cartoon/manga. I opted for simplicity to keep artwork from taking forever twice as long. Some characters look more like manga than others. Mainly older people look more realistic while 0-30 look more like manga.

Probably like 90's anime. I've been watching alot of Dragonball Z when I was a kid so thats what influenced my drawing.

I love old comic strips and comic books from the 30's, 40's and 50's.
Also think early Mad magazine was amazing.
My style is purely a reflection of all that.

I´m in my 30´s so i had a lot of influences through my life, not just from artists and tv shows/movies, but also real life experiences, music, travels, etc.

I´ve to say my style if i have one, has go from real -> manganime -> cartoon -> I don´t know.. Some people without so much info say that i draw manga, while others say i draw cartoon.

I'm trying to find a compromise between western and eastern styles, with big eyes for most characters, but with more realistic-looking noses and muscles. It depends on what comic I'm drawing at the moment, though. Of course, how I'm drawing now might be TOTALLY different a couple years from now, since I can never satisfy my urge to improve myself.

Definitely anime/manga style xD I can name a number of anime/manga artists who have influenced my style, but you can't really see their influence in it for some reason. Probably because my style just ended looking quite "generic" anime/manga in the end. Though I am hoping to develop it into something more unique.

My style is an unholy blend of manga, anime, Franco-Belgian comics (like Asterix, Spirou and, like, Thorgal), and even stuff like Doctor Snuggles (an influence only I am still able to see in my art, but I swear it's there). I've also done my lifedrawing homework, which means there are definite influences of realism there. But honestly, it's everything I've ever liked thrown in a blender.

my drawing style has a huge adrian alphona influence (his ms marvel work, not his runaways work.) like, HUGE! like ive filled sketchbooks with copies of his drawings. mainly his drawings of kamala khan. artists like alphona and keaton henson really set me free in art - let me realise that things can be childish and scruffy and scratching and beautiful!
my arts always been a bit awkward and very sketchy, and when i got into comics i was seeing stuff like ultimate spiderman and runaways, with these thick clean lines, and i was terrified because i couldnt do that! i tried, but i couldnt manage that for every drawing ever! so being able to draw more like illustrations now is soooo nice. you can actually see that change of heart in my comic. i wonder if any alphona fans have ever spotted the influence.

The style I'm using on PEN MAN is actually based on the (somewhat goofy) look of the characters when I first created them around the age of 10. I'm trying not to change TOO much. There's more detail, and it looks a little more grown up (even that has evolved a bit since the first issue of the new series) but the very simple head designs are the same, and I make a point to try and never show the face in profile or 3/4 because when I first drew them I had absolutely no idea how to do either of those. Trying hard not to lose the spirit of what they were when I was a youngster.

I'm honestly not sure what I would call my style, though I guess it's kind of an unholy mix of anime and weird western nonsense, haha. I cell shade, and am very guilty of the giant eyes thing, but otherwise my style's a bit too, uh, "ugly" I guess to fit the traditional manga style (based off what other people have told me. people seem to hate the noses in my comic in particular lol).

As for influences I honestly couldn't say. I was drawing the giant anime eyes long before I ever got into anime or even really knew it was a thing, and every other aspect of my style just kind of developed as I worked on improving my work and making things look better. I didn't ever even really intend to develop a style, but I guess I ended up with one, and I'm pretty happy with it. :y

I consider myself having three style.
One is more realistic and serious (as seen in Heavy Horns). This was heavily influenced by Est Em, Tomer and Asaf Hanuka, Kevin Wada, and J.C. Leyendecker.
My second style is more cartoony (as seen in Demon House), but still keeping realistic proportions. This evolved from an amalgam of all the stuff I drew in high school and was influenced by everything I watched as a kid (including anime).
My third style is more geometric (to be seen in an upcoming shorter series). This one developed most recently and was influenced by Natsume Ono, and the films The Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea.

I would say i have a more realistic style.
but i suppose it goes more towards a semi-realistic style,
since i wouldn't say i make spot on realism.

but sometimes (outside of comic drawing) i do make
anime/manga styled drawings as well because it's
a bit fun to play around with styles c: !

My style so far has a range of inspirations most of which I can't remember where they came from, but there's a few key ones I do know. I strive for the graphic-yet-realistic painting quality of J.C. Leyendecker (TF2's art direction was also heavily influenced by Leyendecker). I tend to use weird shapes and angles reminiscent of Genndy Tartakovsky's background art work (dexter's lab, samurai jack). I also studied digital painting techniques used by Daniel Lieske and EliOli. I feel sometimes I still try to stay "too literal" and I lose the gesture and vibrancy that stylized cartoon works can provide. However, I have definitely improved on this regard over the past two years. My character designs used to be really unintentionally creepy because I didn't "stylize" it enough.

My fav artist are maduerera and Edward risso. So kind of a blend of those two

My style is manga-y, I guess. I was once told that the way I draw looked like this Russian adaption of Beowulf, because I use a lot of straight lines.
