The world that is in my novel was actually created by a close friend for a dnd campaign they were starting! They were also 100% fine with me using said world in my book which is amazing. The main differences between the real world that we live in and the world in utm (Under the Moons) is the fact that magic and different mystical races all live together. There are dragonborns (dragon people who can reach over 7ft tall and have scales and the body of a dragon, just without crawling on all fours) Elfs, Orcs, Gnomes, the whole shebang! In this specific worl there are also different gods which will be a lot of writing for me to type out, but the main god that is important (ish) in this story is the god Esther, who is known for her chaos and fire!

There's so much more about the world that even I don't know about, but it all is amazing and all thanks to my friend and her hard work!

If you're interested in seeing/reading the world that Lucille lives in, here's the link! I hope you enjoy!
Genre:Fantasy, Romance, GL
Summary: After getting caught sneaking out of the palace, Lucille Carralei ends up with two options: Marry a random man she's never met, or find a way to get her freedom without getting caught yet again.
But when her dreams finally come true, she realizes that her life wasn't the one on the line...but someone else's was.

In Godchain, magic is widespread and every single person alive has access to at least a small degree of magic power, sponsored by their homeland's patron god. For the vast majority of people, their magic is pretty simple but useful in nature and every country in Godchain has a common form that their magic takes. Sometimes, people can be born with more magic stamina or different, unique forms of magic from the common sort. Even more rarely, someone can be Favored, which gives them nigh-infinite usage of their magic. In exchange for that power, though, the gods forbid a person from a specific behavior, which can kill someone if disobeyed. It's considered extraordinarily taboo to openly speak of your forbidden behavior in public, so I want the readers to kind of figure some of these out on their own; every character has one! I also wanted to try and strike a balance between useful in everyday life and useful in battle for the magic powers, since I kind of wanted to avoid purely elemental magic this time around. I've worked with Avatar-esque settings before and wanted to do something a little different with Godchain.

This whole arrangement is called a Godchain, which is why the series is named that!

Oh, and Godchain takes place on a planet slightly colder than our own, which is mostly just an excuse to draw lots of thick, warm capes for people.

I think I speak for most people when I say capes are awesome(even if they are hazardous and sometimes get in the way lol), but I like that your magic system has a sort of balance to keep people from being overpowered. I also enjoy seeing magic used for more everyday tasks because, much like science, I don't think magic would keep developing to the point of being used in war if it hadn't first been used to solve problems for the common folk.

Here's the world that I've create. I do hope you all like it!

The Japanese Samaria era based Action/Fantasy novel with some Anime flare and a lot of Time-travel elements is here!

Hmm, interested? * Staring intensifies *

Blurb:

From the underbelly of the war-zone, the clangs of clashing Katanas and Yaris never died. The eight deities fought tooth and nail to shut off the first Hell-Gate. But, the only things they sealed off were the lives of two deities and countless men. They dragged themselves back to the castle to rule the nation of deteriorating hopes.

Another lost battle!
Another dead deity!

Especially among the people of the Hirata clan—a war clan that was at the bottom of the food chain. Marked as war-dogs and stained in poverty, it seemed like nothing would change to the nine-year-old Mika. Until the volley of news exposed certain people of importance. The people she treated as gods, saw her like mindless cattle. Betrayal! Hatred brewed in her! Brewed when she was working with those very same gods she despised, trying to unravel what happened.

A deadly shot in the dark appeared in front of her. A chance to change all of it—right from the root. She could save her people. Not just hers—all of them! Only one shot at the reversing chaos, thrusting her back in time—to the whirlpool of deceit and doom.

"Land's End is a coastal town with an upper suburb and a lower urban section. It was said that long ago the world serpent tore through the cliffside, leaving an overhanging landmass that defies gravity. Gondola elevators help suburban residents in/out of the city. The sister city of The Undertown lies beneath the water."

I do love world building and have a series I want to write about a world I created.

My current novel is first in a 3 part series where it takes place a little bit into the future and where there are descendants of angels and demons who had children with mortals. I have really enjoyed writing about these celestials and half-celestial characters secretly living amongst mortals.

I have created organization charts for the celestial world showing rankings and did family tree's to show how some are connected. it has helped me keep everything cohesive, and coherent.

My comic is set in the Norse concept of the 9 world's, inhabited by giants, trolls, Asgardians, elves, dwarves, ghosts, humans and fair folk. Midgard (earth) also has lots of different monsters and creatures that hide from humanity on it.

My story takes place in the continent of Odgard, where the first humans are said to have risen. More details will be revealed as the story keeps going forward!

All designs are made by me, my twitter handle is @kaenLINK
You can find all the designs of my characters, worlds and more there! If you wanna see the continent of Odgard in HD, it should be there.

My comic takes place some 700-ish years in the future in a backwater star system where everyone went "you know what would be neat? Old west-style things". The two arcs so far have taken place in an asteroid mine and a (supposedly) haunted manor located in the upper atmosphere of a gas giant.

My story's world is pretty much the same as ours, the main difference is there are ghosts, demons, grim reapers and magic. Grim reapers work within a bureaucratic system that relies on government funding. The problem is that most normal people don't know they exist, so it's really hard to get reliable funding (they draw from vague categories like "health and safety" and "misc.") Grim reaper abilities are something you are born with, but they can either be active from birth or dormant and later triggered by a near-death experience.

There are also a few specific cities that don't exist in the real world. The main city, Sapphire Bay, used to be a thriving resort town until about 30 years ago. Then, tourism drastically reduced due to reasons that haven't been revealed in the story yet, and the local economy suffered. Now Sapphire Bay is pretty run down (you will see some pawn shops, predatory loan agencies, old buildings in need of repair etc.), although the downtown and pier areas are still somewhat nice. It has taken on a quiet, sleepy character and businesses are closed by 7pm. The population is mostly elderly folks who have lived there for decades and their families, but due to low property values, new families are also moving in (hey, it's still by the beach!). There are also a few new and old money families that have clout locally and have decided to stick around.

This is probably just my brain stuck in the past decade, but the culture of the story might be closer to the early/mid 2010s than the current year.

I've got an entire universe, but for anything to make sense, I've got to start with a bit of quantum physics (don't worry if it's convoluted and doesn't make a lot of sense - you literally have to rewire your brain to understand quantum physics, and I've personally only every been able to get halfway there).

Every particle in the universe is stamped with something called "information." Information can be understood as the history of this particle (so, the particle was first part of a star, then a supernova, then soil, then a plant, etc.). In the universe of Re:Apotheosis, it can carry much more than that - if the particle comes from a neuron from somebody who is thinking about a story they have just seen or read, it can also embed the DNA of that story and its entire world (including the physics of it, which is important).

When enough people read or see a specific story, an "information stream" is created - think of this as a ribbon of information that turns the story into a real place in an alternate dimension, and maintains it in compliance with the story. The rules that govern the information stream (and the world that it creates) are imprinted in the particles that create it. So, the people reading or viewing the story have a tradition of stories in which somebody can move from one world to another, it becomes possible for a character to travel back up it to the world that created them.

Or, put another way, Edgar Rice Burroughs started the whole "transported to another world" at the start of the 20th century with his John Carter of Mars books, causing the information streams to become "leaky" and for fictional characters to start falling out of their story worlds into our real one.

So what happens when a character with the powers of a god travels up the information stream, sees the world that created them, and doesn't like what they see? That's the start of a war...

Sounds like a rather complex isekai story.

What sets my story different from our world are the personifications of universal concepts called the Ancients and they have Avatars. To be fair to took the idea from Sandman and Discworld.
I do have a unique species I created called Apostles (they're a prototype to a species that will come later) who serve the Ancients.
You also have the typical fantasy troupes like magic, supernatural creatures and gods too.
If that sounds interesting check out my story.

Just wait until the sequel starts dropping at the end of November. It's an Odyssey through the story worlds (and that word is capitalized for a reason...).

In a world different from the one we know, a dimensional rift opened on the continent. Monsters came pouring through killing and devouring everything in sight. Now centuries later society has developed to endure these new difficulties. With either swords or sorcery, fighting these monsters has become the norm.

Thanks for starting this thread. It's so great to read everyone's world-building and how their 'worlds' work. Anyway here's a little bit about my worlds.

Forgotten:
The world is split into seven realms (kind of based of the Norse Mythology Nine Worlds). While the different realm inhabitants do intermingle with other realms, most keep to themselves, basically like different countries. In each realm, there are many kingdoms and 'countries'. The only way you can travel to another realm, is by going through a gate that's heavily guarded.
In the book, Cal travels with a Fae (her names Fer) through the seven realms. As they travel, they meet many different characters from different myths, stories and legends. And they also discover something about the realms...
 Sorry can't say more because that'll spoil the story.

The Rising Darkness:
As for this book, it's basically a dystopian version of our world set thousands of years into the future. Runa (the MC) sometimes talks about the old world (before the Underworld started ruling) and talks about space exploration and people going to live in other parts of the universe.
There are of course some differences between our world and hers, mostly in terms of the system of power and naming of places. (Geography and history - a bit - are the only things really that are the same)
