Digital or old fashioned pen and ink for making comics?

I combine traditional and digital mediums. For my current comic, I pencilled everything with a non-photo blue pencil, then went over it with H graphite. Then I scanned it and cleaned-colored it in Photoshop. For my next issue, I'm switching to ink instead of pencil, it's much cleaner. I prefer Pelikan Tusche A Drawing Ink and a brush-tip pen.

Personally, I prefer H lead, HB is a bit too soft for my taste.

I dont have any money for a tablet so what I do is I draw them out in pencil, then outline them in pen, scan them on to the computer, and edit everything in Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Adobe Illustrator CS6.

I draw my comic Hacheeachkee in either pencil or ink and grey marker and then I scan and add additional values in it digitally (like gradients) and position the drawings in comic format using Photoshop, like in this page:

I started the comic brush inking, but after a while I realized if I inked digitally I'd get things done a bit faster. I mostly use Manga Studio 4 or 5, but any small comics I plan on doing are probably going to get done in pen and ink since i want to do something a bit more loose and sketchy, and I can bang that kind of stuff out faster in analog media than i can in digital media.

I use both actually interchangeably. Although I prefer to ink and such digitally for comic. I found I prefer by hand for single one shot pictures.

I do almost the same thing, but I do the drawing and inking by hand then color digitally.

Our comics are posted digitally, but what about the actual creation? Do you still use old fashioned pens, pencils, bristol board and ink or have you gone digital? I changed to digital kicking and screaming but now I won't go back. I use a Cintiq and the programs Manga Studio and Photoshop.

I started out by drawing my tapastic comic in hand, but I simply find it easier to do digitally now. I do still draw stuff traditionally though, as it's more convenient to get around outside with a sketchbook than a laptop and a tablet.

I have literally just started doing everything on my graphics tablet. My first comic posted on this site tapastic.com /owlsinsocks is how i am doing them now, but i still doodle by hand with pencils in my school books!! xP

This is the question that is the foundation of every comic these days...BUT I feel that it is easier to do digital these days, as undo and resizing is so easy, it just makes sketching that much less painful.

Much like @tomversation, I switched to digital "kicking and screaming" and now I do most of my comics purely digitally! The gap between my traditional skill and digital skill has become narrower and narrower since I've been getting used to my Cintiq, but every now and then I'll hop back on the ol' ink and brush.

I was originally trying to draw on paper and then edit it digitally, but then I realized that it would be easier to just make it digitally.

As of late I have been doing nothing but digital works on my wacom tablet but honestly the way to go is traditional pen and ink. Always feel my work comes out better traditionally.

In the past I was hard and fast pencil and ink, but as of late I've been finding that Digital delivers the same quality with less hassle, so I've been using just photoshop and a drawing tablet
