Do Comics have to be Digital?

Do comics on Tapastic have to be digital? I know it's a think about being easier but... And what I mean is like draw it by hand, make some minor edits (like text and white space), then upload.

There are plenty of traditionally drawn webcomics, both on Tapastic and in the webcomics community in general. There are no rules about it - draw it however you like.

There are so many different styles of comics out there. Digital, traditional, some people even do live action and use photos! There's hardly any boundaries to what medium you'd like to use for your comic. Do what makes you happy!!
The important thing concerning the comic aesthetically would be to make sure you clean up the pages, and have them readable and easy to follow. It would be best to scan them in, and just do some touch ups on a program like Photoshop ^^

I've seen some beautifully done comics in traditional media, so no, comics do not have to be digital. You can probably make a comic using just about any media.

Traditional media is fine! You can sue whatever you want too This one is with watercolours for example.
I saw some with pencils and colored pencils, etc, etc...

my entire series was drawn with pencil and india ink - it was colored digitally, but that is my preference, not a requirement.

Simply put, no. I do mine digital just to get it out faster and the toning. But I still believe in traditional comics and respect those who do it.

I love creating traditional media comics! The only thing is I wish the readers could get the full impact of the personal nature of the medium. I love it when people who see it in real life reach out and touch the bumps of the paint or see the subtle gradients of the markers that scanners can't pick up. There is this one gorgeous comic I folow that is entirely dne in watercolor. If you cn do it traditionally
better than digitally you should totally do it.

My "Summerdays" comic is traditional with some digital editing. Also I don't find digital art easier.

No comics don't have to be digital. Some creators prefer digital, some prefer traditional and some like to use a little bit of both like traditional inking and digital coloring.
I'm one of those people that like adding a little bit of both

Stray Dog by VanRah is traditionally inked and digitally colored

Sacred by Lizbeth R. Jimenez is all traditional along with the coloring.
The only digital she uses is for the sound effects and the text.

The tool you prefer should never be considered an obstacle to art.
If you wan to make a webcomic using grape jelly smeared across a monopoly board, then go for it!

I used to draw my comic traditionally but, it wasn't up to the quality I would have liked. When I went digital found it was more flexible and fun to work on. However, the choice is ultimately up to you what's fun for you and what's fun for me are could be two different things.

There was a thread not super long ago about traditional inking actually, but yea like everyone else said there is no rule. Doing webcomics finally pushed me to go all digital after resisting for a long time, but its not necessary.

I started my comic with ink on paper. But as I've been travelling a lot, digital is much easier to do on the go. There's less tools needed, supplies to buy and If you mess it up you can always go back.

For me it's practical but I love the organic feeling of a pen and ink.
