Do you guys enjoy testing new art styles?

When I draw to my comic I'm not using my "favorite" art style, so that's why I'm always drawing the characters in it, unfortunately, that doesn't match the comic's style so I end up using the results as 'propaganda', haha.

Yes I do, one of my favorite art styles to draw is Dragon Ball's artstyle.

I drew one of my characters from my comic in six different styles.

I love when manga artists experiments other manga artists styles, did you saw Naruto in Jojo's style? Super nice.

Sometimes an idea just seems to work better in a different style. An example for a little project I've been doing on the side since last year (I envision it as an animated cartoon, which will never happen, so thats shy it's just a 'for fun' concept art project xD):

I think it's fun to experiment with styles! It's a good way to learn new techniques and develop as an artists ^^ (And clients might want a certain style, so being able to follow a style guide is beneficial, if you're interested in that industry)

Yes, because I get bored drawing the same thing over and over again and I sometimes just draw dramatically different styles as a palette cleanser.

When I first started working on my comic, I was going to use this painterly style. Three panels later, I realized that I would go insane before I finished even the first chapter. Sometimes I regret not sticking to the initial style, and then I remember how it took a billion times longer to finish one panel and feel better.

And here's a comparison of the initial and final. There are also a couple other styles that I played around with in between, but I can't find them at the moment.

My comic's a gag-a-day thing, so it gives me an opportunity to try out different styles with each page, since they're typically unrelated to each other. There are some reoccurring styles, but I try not to have comics with the same style back-to-back:

I definitely love practicing and changing up styles.

Usually I switch between an psudo-anime style I use in my comic.

And a semi-realistic one I use for portraits. I need I lot more practice to make this look really realistic but that's my goal!

I just need more practice.

@DaphnePanda I do have to admit that painterly style is eye-catching as heck! I can imagine it takes forever though!

The style on the bottom is Wonder Woman fanart that I am working on for the upcoming movie, Wonder Woman 1984. I'd love to do a whole comic in that style but it would take me an eternity.

It's harsh to be solo. We have a writer (Theus), and a drawer (Ger) and it's exhausting as fuck, can't imagine being solo.

I'm developing a new art style for my comic. I figured it was the best thing to do since my other style was to stiff and very hard to work with. Whether or not I'll actually stick with said new art style is still to be determined.

My comic's art style hasn't changed. But the medium has. I went from pixel art, to normal full colored cartoony art, and I plan on moving onto monochrome in the future to save time. I also have another series in development where I use thinner lines.
But my style never changes. Only the delivery. Even when I did lineless, the shapes and structure of my drawings remain the same. I only have one style but I like to experiment with the medium.

I love experimenting with art styles! My mini comic series has a rather tones down art style, but the art I make for my novel gets the full rendered illustrations haha.
