I saw another poll on the subject a few hours ago. Sadly, the majority opinion was No. XD

I understand that, I guess. Humans do atrocious things all the time, and our brains are wired to find negative events more significant than positive ones. Nevertheless, I don't agree.

In general, I think people are...okay. I don't really like to talk to them, but I can enjoy being around them. They're alright. ^^;

I tend to think of them like you think of any other animal. Like dogs, for instance. Sure, some of them will rip your throat out for whatever reason (training, breeding, abuse, etc.), but most of them are good and kind and at least don't want to hurt you.

is there a neutral option because I can agree on not completely disliking other humans but I'm also not the biggest fan of humanity. also i find the discussion interesting because anytime i fall into the habit of saying "oh i hate humans" the first response i've gotten is "aren't you a human as well" to which i say maybe or i'm jut one among many entities on this planet.

but if anything i just find humans interesting from an observational standpoint. some of them you like some you hate some you just dont care for but regardless of opinion watching them and trying to understand them is...interesting. maybe it's an odd way to phrase it but that's the best way i can think to describe my standpoint.

Eh...I say yeah.

Generally, one a general basis, people are ok enough. Like, some people are complete monsters and other people are just plain annoying (asshole or not). In real life, I'm more shy and I like to keep interactions to a minimum. That's just a me thing. When it comes down to it -- most people are decent enough.

They might not be a ray of sunshine or are doing anything particularly ground-breaking. But hey -- I'm the same way. I'm a ray of sunshine to people I know and like, and I really just wanna get through each day bit by bit. Most people can relate to that.

As a whole, we're flawed, and we've got some growing to do. But if there is bad in the world, then there is good. And for the good that happens, day by day, I say yeah -- I like people. We're pretty alright.

From information which I have for now about humanity in general, and my personal experience with people... If I would consider randomly picked human, I would like this human with probability much less than 1/2. So I've answered "No".
There are too many people, who don't want to analyse things around them, don't even try to understand other people (especially ones who is different from them) and don't want to learn new things. So, such a people usually also have a lot of stupid superstitions, shallow and contradictory worldview and low level of knowledge in general. I'm sorry for arrogance, but I can't like such an ignorant people, because their stupidity makes them very harmful, toxic and just repulsive. And I suppose that significantly more than half of people are like this.

No, for the same reasons than @tired_programmer.
Statistically I don't like people.
It does not mean that I can't like some of them very much, or that I can't be kind and /or helful to random strangers.

Humans individually, yes. Big yes. I love people.

Humanity as a whole, big yikes. Mob mentality turns people into monsters.

I'm gonna go with my first part the same as @graveweaver- there are individuals that I like, but I have no faith in humanity as a whole...

I like people. At best I absolutely adore you and at worst, in most cases, I'm apathetic. I've met plenty of people I dislike, and certain behaviors or mentalities as a whole that make me want to barf. But overall, people are cool and interesting and I like them.

You- yes you.
I probably don't dislike you.

Generally speaking, yes! There are plenty of people I dislike, quite a lot. But most of my interactions with people, even complete strangers at parties or bars or conventions or off the street waiting for a bus- have been neutral-to-positive. I'm not the type to strike up conversations with random people usually, but when people do so with me I'm happy to chat them up and get to know them a bit ^^

i dont dislike people the way i dislike, like, murder. i more dislike people the way i dislike obstacle courses - for all the fun they can be, theyre confusing and exhausting, and difficult to navigate.

like, when i say i hate people, its not on a moral level, just on a 'this is really difficult to handle id far rather talk to some cats right now' level

Tough call. Rather than disliking people, I'd say I don't have a lot of faith in them. I also have a hard time feeling any kind of genuine emotional connection with most other people.

Still, I like getting to know others. Learning new things, seeing new perspectives, possibly making new friends, etc.

I'm neutral I guess? I think humans are interesting and it's amazing how everyone is different, but at the same time humanity is a big mess. Some people are ready to start a fight because they argue which way of eating cereal is better.

I hate meeting people, but I don't dislike actual people. Unless that individual is awful or icky in some tangible way. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt in general, and I as much as I hate the build up to meeting, I do really love it when said new person turns out to be really lovely. I've had pretty good luck in returning to school recently that my class mates are really good heartfelt people.

And because I cannot resist cannabalism jokes, apparently..

I hear they make good meat pies. You should try a little priest. ;DDDD

Oh gosh, I dunno xD
It kinda depends where you are and with what folks you have to deal. When I think of all those toxic comment sections on social media, I honestly hate people.
But then there is a lot of kindness and politeness online as well. This forum is one of those, where shitstorms are very rare and people are in general reasonable and not judgmental or hateful. That makes me feel like liking people in general.

Itā€™s a grab bag and I always hope there are more kind and good people than there are bad and obnoxious ones. So Iā€™d say for now I like people...^^ā€

In my cases, not so much people online...I can walk away from the computer and not really care much about online stuff; it's the real life people that I dont care to deal with- especially if they are annoying or shitty people.

I want to say yes, but I lean more towards no. After doing customer service, I have a hard time seeing the good in people, and a lot of thatā€™s my fault. Itā€™s up to me to have a good attitude and understand people. I have a hard time not taking things personally. Itā€™s no excuse, but Iā€™ve had some entitled people give me some pretty low ball, mean comments because the place I work for screwed up.

Edit: Like, frustration is understandable. People arenā€™t perfect. A lot of emotions run high in stressful situations and sometimes we explode on others. Maybe I just need to grow a tougher skin. Itā€™s just hard because now Iā€™ve let myself slip into a defensive habit towards people. Instead of seeing mistakes I assume the worst in others. I definitely want to change that. Although, Iā€™m hard on myself, so that could be why Iā€™m having a hard time with compassion. So I should work on myself more. Sorry, now Iā€™m rambling and thinking too much.

I say no, but thatā€™s because I donā€™t really enjoy social situations and mingling. I have my friends and my family and Iā€™m content with what I have. I donā€™t generally enjoy meeting new people, I like to stick with what I have.
I prefer forums over real life situations. I do enjoy taking to all of you.

sure i like people!

some are fun

some are crazy

some are bad all over so i stay away from "those" people :scream:

but yeah generally i like peeps

In my experience there are very few actually decent people. Most of them are kind of selfish and lowkey shitty. And so goddamn BORING oh my God.
I've had a disproportionate amount of incredibly shitty people in my life though. My dad is an alcoholic with narcissistic personality disorder so those kind of people have sought me out because I made an easy mark for their abuse.

Love them! Some, I love to talk to or befriends with and some I love to hit with a metal bat...on the face. So yeah, either way, love them.
