it varies. i relate to @niah146 that if a creator comes to annoy me, it affects how i view their work - i try to keep a fair distance from most creators for this reason.
as for like, disagreeing with someone politically but liking their work... i think i have quite a few guilty pleasures in that respect. its hard to know where to draw the line, particularly given im a big ol hip hop fan and as a rapper saying some iffy shit is an occupational hazard. it depends on how much i love their work, and how major the grievance.
for example, like, community is racist as fuck sometimes. and all sorts of other kinds of offensive. however, it also has an autistic, mentally ill character, treated really well (for the most part) and who means a shitton to me... so i keep watching. i remain critical of all the terrible incidents, but find that the good outweighs the bad. at the same time, i can understand other people wanting nothing to do with it.
on the other hand, i was binge watching lost girl a couple years ago and came across an episode so hideously offensive that i dropped it all at once, despite the interesting premise and lgbt representation. however, what also fed into that was the fact i was getting bored of the writing and thought it was all a bit predictable and undiverse. maybe if id been enjoying it more i would have pushed through? i dont know.
if a creator has righteously pissed me off, or crossed a major line (assault, overt bigotry) ill probably drop em. whether or not its the responsible thing to do, i dont think id be able to enjoy their work anymore, because id just be reminded of that behaviour. though sometimes, it can be pettier than that, ill admit.
