Many creators have a Patreon but I wanted to know how many of you support creators? If you want, you can share who you support!

[Reading Comics on Patreon]
If you do support comic creators on Patreon which do you prefer when they made comic updates?
Mobile scroll (Webtoon format) or Page Flip (Print Format)?

(I'm trying to figure out which I should do for my Patreon)

I mostly follow on Patreon Im poor and dont have many patrons anyway but I try to support with donations in other platforms.

Ans for your other question, the mobile scroll looks weird on patreon (Ive been uploading my mobile version and it sucks but I dont have time for doing both atm) so, if you have time, the page flip is easier for to read there.

I am a patron of 1 creator (now and also have 1 patron), I hope if i'm lucky enough to get double-digits per month, I can use a percentage of earning to support more creators. That was one of my Patreon goal.

Oh ya, i support @brachoaugusto and his awesome webcomic.

Page format all the way (i prefer reading on proper webcomic sites/portals, not on Patreon)

Same. Although I did become a patron to quite a few people this month, but only for this month. Going back to supporting 1 person by the end of the month.

When you uploaded did you place it in place #1 or place #2?

Place 1 is the best for page flip.
Place 2 is best for mobile scroll. It stitches it together but you have to [backspace] between page uploads

I support the creator of Punderworld and Blood Stain! She shares PDF's of her comics there as both pages and scroll, but pages are definitely easier to read on Patreon and on a computer. Mobile scroll only really works on Tapas and Webtoon, because of how they automatically stitch pages together.

I have one patron myself, and I share my read-ahead content as pages.

I havent been able to support anyone monthly the minimal wage for professionals here is US$300, so make your calculations why I cant

I place them in #1 cause when I placed them on #2 my patrons commented they didnt wanted such long scrolling cause I also make fanarts for them (and they are more interested in the fanart lol) yes I use tags yet thats what i was told so I ended placing them in #1
I think it would be better if you ask them first

I was suggesting based on one of the people I follow but I was testing it out myself (just now) and for mobile place #2 is better but only if it is sliced in between panels (in the white space) and not through a panel.

Yeah, place 1 with print format is definitely better for Patreon. When I do get enough patrons I will ask, right now I only got 2.

Yeah, it mostly depends on what they followed for, if they know you are a comic artist and follows you because comics then I think its gonna be ok any kind of upload you do yet #1 is better for Page Flip (that also depends on how many pages you will upload under a single tittle)
Your are is pretty, Im sure you will get more patrons soon. :+1:

I do support 2 currently, and they make comics, both happen to be page format. Thing is comics aren't the only thing that they make and it's not really the reason why I'm giving them my support (one is a friend I know IRL for years, the other is a very amazing artist who shares illustration tips and WIP's I find really helpful) so it's like...it doesn't really matter to me in their case which format they use.

@onyisart - I support 7 creators on Patreon and follow several others, and I see a mix of vertical scroll and page format (mostly page format). I think that which you choose really depends on what you want your end result to be. Are you planning on publishing your webcomic in book format at some point? If so, then maybe consider sticking with page format. If not, then I don't see anything wrong about keeping it vertical scroll. Hope this was helpful, and best of luck!

I work in book format then convert to a mobile-scroll format for webtoon/Tapas.

I like the scroll format because it gives more space to add effects mood outside the panel (as well as inside). Conversion is a lot of work though I do admit, it's fine.

I've quit using Patreon as a platform and have moved to alternatives.

Personally I prefer the mobile scroll uploads but the other is fine as well, I don't think it's a defining factor.

I support five or so and prefer page format with a good tagging system to keep all in one place.

Tagging!! I've been creating tags I know I will use and storing them on my PC sticky notes so that I can just copy and paste.
When I look at other people I support they have so many tags-and i don't want to go through that because most times not everything is included in a specific tag.

I follow two patreons, one for a novel and the other for occult knowledge.

The first is my favorite, and belongs to @HopefulAttempt. She posts here on tapas and puts all of her chapters up a week early for her patreon subscribers, along with some bonuses for each tier. I'm good friends with her but I support her because of the effort she puts in, and not because of our closeness. I do, however, offer a free oracle dice reading for her patrons as a way of supporting her. She is amazing at what she does though and interacts with every comment she receives. Here link is below:

The second is Normal Horoscopes, an occult researcher that posts their demonology research online. They post a lot of occult research for free on their blog and covers astrology, magic, religion, pretty much anything metaphysical. I just think they're neat.

I follow several comic creators on Patreon! I like giving small donations when I can. I hope readers on Tapas will support my Patreon too someday... That's the dream...

Also, since my Patreon has several different series that are a part of it, I use a sticky post main directory for patrons to find a lot of stuff easily, and I use a lot of tags for every post to make things easier to find as the posts start racking up. Patreon's organization isn't great without those things, so I recommend them both.

As for vertical/page, whichever one your comic is already in, you might as well keep it that way because it's a lot better for your own time IMO.
