In these years, looking for color palettes on Pinterest, I saved some of them as a reference for the outfits colors of my OCs.
For Anna's clothes I decided pastel colors and light shades of violet and Noah has Earth colors in his outfits.

Do you have particular colors for your characters' clothes?

Yes. For my comic, The Black Belt Society, each character's main color is associated with their element: Elliot is blue for water, Lara is red for fire, and Tyler is green for earth. Aside from that, their color pallette just ended up being colors I thought would suit each main color. Most of my characters correspond to a color. It makes it easier for me when I design them and I think it makes my characters look appealing. Though, I think most artists design with a central color in mind.

Yes, I sort of developed them in the beginning of the comic and just slightly twitching with characters growing up. Two very different palettes also give the two main characters very different feeling even if you change one detail, other characters have other color combinations. And it makes the process of imagining their wardrobe so much easier

Yeah, you're right. Now that I have a fixed color palette and I decided some styles for my OCs, finding reference is easier.

@IndigoShirtProd I started to assing a main color or a palette in the last years, when I first created my OCs I didn't have this in mind (I just had 2 twins wearing the Union Jack fashion and stick to that for them)

I go one step further. In Clip Studio Paint I have a color set(skin, eyes, hair etc) as a row on the color set palette. So the row is assigned to a character and I can just pick the color when needed. My characters don't wear the same clothes daily so color for that changes as they change colors.

Oh, I've never thought about that, I have a color chart for their skin, hair and eyes and I always have to open the files to get the colors
My character changes clothes too, but since my comic is in black and white, I use the color palettes for the illustrations, trying to give them the same color combination every time.

I don't quite have color palettes in the same way as OP, but I do have image colors. It's not as obvious in my current series, Galactiquest, since those characters are all in uniform, but my upcoming one, Hinimato, is a lot more obvious with it. For example, here's the main 3 characters at the start.

You'll notice that Higgy usually wears some type of purple, Nicky wears some type of yellow, and Toni wears some kind of red.

The characters in Errant are colour coded to the extent that they practically dress like unmorphed Power Rangers

Rekki always wears warm colours, particularly red and orange, and usually accessories in warm browns. Any metal accessories on her person tend to be brass.

Subo wears earthy, natural colours and green, any accessories are copper.

Sarin wears various shades of blue with stark black and white. She might wear brass or silver.

Jules wears black and various shades of purple and pink with silver.

Rocket wears the trans flag . This was not the original intention, I think, like with pokemon, there's just something about pink, blue and white that communicates "fairy".

In the prologue, Urien wore a fairly neutral outfit of grey, black and blue, but after becoming a tyrant king, he wears a lot of white and gold.

I track all the character's skin, hair and outfit colour palettes in any given chapter with a reference file so I can quickly find them, because it's easier than jumping back to previous pages all the time to sample.

Thank you so much! Hinimato isn't out as of yet, hopefully I can start working on it this year, but there is Galactiquest, which you've already subbed to. (Thanks again!)

I solved this one with having my comic in grayscale so everyone's wearing gray in mine
However as I do draw traditional there's certain color I seem to be using all the time :joy:
