I have been working on my novel for almost a month now. I first started writing it because I loved the idea of the isekai genre17. Having a character be transported to a fantastical world that had magic in it was such a cool concept. The problem I found, however, was that the main protagonists in these types of stories were usually one-dimensional, bland, unoriginal, self-inserts with little to no personality that attempted to be the most relatable person to the genre's main target demographic: 14 to 18-year-old boys.

The genre has so much untapped potential to explore in terms of magic systems, political structures, social hierarchies, cultures and more. So I decided to explore those elements. In my novel, each episode is around 500-800 words and is updated every weekday. It is structured similarly to an anime, being separated into story arcs. The main character is a twenty-nine-year-old linguist who happens to be a huge fan of anime and manga. He gets transported to a fantasy world, and there is an explanation for it. The world has a hard magic system that is well defined. The story has an interesting plot, lots of action, romance, LGBT themes that aren't shoved in your face, strong and interesting female characters, mystery, and a well-written antagonist.
