It's My Main Character, Kiet. he stopped Milo's studies and confined him in his mansion. He always tries to control him and Milo is still trying to adjust himself in Kiet's life. That's sad.

Check out my BL novel with forced mafia marriage.

@Leyelle My main character for my core storyline starts out as a very selfish and manipulative person, but I intend to show his evolution into a better person. He is coming from a culture that is very toxic and slowly is exposed to people who are not like that. He remains a bit of an antihero throughout, but he has good intent.

Yes, they do. Caelan 100% does things I find morally reprehensible several times, both in his backstory and in the current timeline. But that's what makes him interesting in my opinion hahahahaha.

Chapter 14 for instance. It might have been a mistake, but he did hurt the person who he loved the most in the whole world, right when they were at their lowest point in life. He's also ex-special forces, so he had to have some sociopathic tendencies to keep his sanity on that job.

If you want to learn more, why not pop up and give it a read?

I mean Alex is 100% a war criminal. This includes the violation of the saint petersburg declaration, Multiple violation the first Hague convention and by extension the geneva convention. Some of them were not voluntary, but oopsy daisy is not a valid defense for war crimes. This also extends to Nives, but her crimes are limited to the use of hollow point and explosive bullets.

More importantly from the perspective of the reader, Alex will go pretty near what could be considered domestic abuse, and is the type of person who will not hesitate to kill a dog.

Although my plan is for him to eventually get better.

I love to write stories about people who do things that I dislike.
I just started writing some episodes about a guy, one of his hobbys
is internet trolling. It´s really fun to write a character like that and
to imagine what´s going on in a person like that

Definitely, that's the benchmark of good character writing for me. Can I give the characters moments of being unlikeable? If they're always within my boundaries they would get stiff and robotic. That's why I try to push back that bug in my stomach that tells me what they're doing is wrong and say LETS DO THIS!
Like i felt uneasy about implying Setsune used to be racist back in chapter 6's flashback, but it was more humanizing to me to have her affected by the culture where she grew up, even if that was long in the past.

Rather than doing things I dislike, it's more that they don't always act in the way I had planned. I might have an amazing idea about where to take the story but it would be contrary to their characters - so in that sense they can be pretty tricksy!

My next MC will be a Bully.
But it's for his character development.
He will go through a big change in heart.

Miss Fortuna.
Awful being, scratching people who love her, animal cruelty in the form of playing with mice until they die, even tries to eat the merman on the crew!

The joke here is that she's a cat.

But real talk; Most every character I write are bad people and so I don't agree with a lot of them. I mean, heck, I joke about the cat in this one story but it's a pirate crew. The first scene is them attacking a merchant vessel to steal their stuff and deciding they're gonna wipe out the crew because they fought back. One of the crew members is terrified all the time because he was kidnapped from another ship and being forced to work with them. There are 2 crew members aboard super keen on the idea of a merfolk genocide. Lots of them are just kind of assholes...
And that's not even mentioning some of my other stories; namely the one I haven't decided on posting or trying to get published yet. Leading man really just beats the leading lady in the streets, SA's her, belittles her, compares her to a dog so many times, ect ect and is somehow still the lesser of two evils for her. But... yeah, we ain't gonna talk about that travesty rn.

My character Naaririel is keeping a huge secret from main character Elyn. It’s for a good reason and he does plan on telling her but he hasn’t found the courage to tell her yet.

Yea they got their flaws, cant say I strongly dislike all, guess various strengths always brings various weaknesses and thankfully they'll learn their lessons lol

Evan Moriarty- his daring , live in the moment attitude makes him entertaining, spontaneous and resilient within a survival setting but can also make others in his life feel dragged into instability and emotionally betrayed.
We are introduced to him as an optimistic big brother when the world becomes a hellscape but as we see him interact with other young men it's clear he's a play boy. Those who hope for something more, he takes them for granted. He also gets his fix from gambling with death (risktaker), dragging his little brother into situations without thinking about the consequences, should things go opposite.

Owen Moriarty- he's a 12 year old kid prolly understandable. Having a more sheltered upbringing, he's accustomed to his parents giving a final approval and mostly keeps himself back from many opportunities. With the brothers stranded from the parents he sees himself left with no other choice but to listen to the 'next adult in family', his big brother Evan. While he loves his brother and tries to keep up even if not by choice, deep down some of his father's negative sentiment towards Evan (he witnessed in 1st episode) remains in his conscience. Owen has a hard time accepting he may not be able to reunite with his parents and begins to blame Evan much like his father did.

Quim Kidd- At 19, he is a quiet guy who much like Owen, looks to his older cousin Quest and uncle Braden to take charge (prior to April 5th, he lived with them on his paternal grandparents' farm after both his parents died in an accident at a young age). Fair enough on April 5th, he's shaken after witnessing his grandparents turn into monsters, but while someone like Owen would be pushed to take action, Quim would rather run away, burst into tears and hide. His child-like innocence, years of being bullied in high-school and failure to 'succeed at anything' leaves him with an inferior self-image and he'll easily trust anyone who gives him attention.
While Evan never knew him personally in HS (Evan was a few grades above) he was Quim's 1st crush and recalls a day when Evan rescued him by beating up the bullies (Evan on some occasions playfully manipulates Quim's adoration of him with little regard to his feelings). His gullible nature can easily work against him but on positive note he's the antithesis of "Mr. play-boy Evan", prefers to remain true to the one he loves.

I think that's when you become a better story writer and it gives one's character an edge which makes them seem more believable.

In my comic, I have a character called Nathan who can be bitchy when he's jealous or Betsey who would do anything to succeed.

bruh you're 19. He's barely had time to start anything.

Says the 19 year old who constantly stresses about the same thing

@Leyelle Exactly 🤣 tell him :+1:

Quim- " oh sorry.. kay I'll...um...I'll try":point_right::point_left:
[So he says]

On that note, also makes him a people pleaser, trying hard not to disagree for fear of clashing with others, so he'll say 'ok, he'll do it' even if he still unsure and likely chicken when opportunity comes again.
Sorry for this boy when he gets dragged in Evan's chaos adventure 🤣

And dont worry you got this! :muscle:

Eli allows his feelings to override his judgement all the time. Despite how he wants to come across, he wears his emotions on his sleeves which makes it easy for people to take advantage of him.

Trying some more found these real fun

Evlyn Moriarty (the mom)
She didn't stand up to the dad during his clash with Evan in beginning. She is more understanding of her son (Evan) and could have avoided their argument escalating, instead of going to kitchen to hide her tears. Without her strong stance it only encourages the dad to believe 'only his word matters'.

In her defense -CLICH HERE

as a nurse she's stressed from back-to back long shifts, her 5 year old son went on his own to a birthday party, Evan forgot to pick him up (reason the dad got pissed), Owen fainted an hour ago and the dad reveals to the mom that Evan is a rent boy (implied), the dad now suggesting Evan should move out & not to mention her own memory flashes of past struggles: once being homeless, finally having a stable home she once dreamed of - so lots on her mind. And while it appears only people who developed superpowers heard the eerie Hum on April 5th, she also mentions hearing it on voicemail so there's definitely more on her on her mind than average folks.

'Raffa' Rafael Vargas-
Can come across harsh and too authoritative on wanting Xun to cooperate with him, thinks more about efficiency and less with heart (both orphans, former brothers in arms and maintain a brotherly bond). For starters he believes Evan is out to loaf on Xun (he thinks Xun is too gullible). While the encounters between Evan and Raffa are hilarious back and forth, the reality is that he made it his own mission to scare away Evan in his wolf form (behind Xun's back, with 0 regard to Xun's feelings).
Instead of working with Xun (and the main team), he chooses to work solo, criticizing Xun for dragging amateurs into battle and jeopardizing their lives. He also thinks they will slow him down and often tells Xun 'to only come around when he can see things his way'.

While some of his views are understandable (not wanting Ev to break Xun's heart or Xun having the death of innocents on his hand), he also puts very little faith on others' strengths or personal choices. Too much Logic clouds his heart.

Xun
He can be a little more direct and serious with Evan (going by Raffa here a bit). Xun 35, is much older than Evan, and lingers on the thought that the unstable young man would one day settle down with him, but in doing so, has Evan eating out of his hands, putting himself at a disadvantage. When he doesn't have a plan he could be honest (due to his own fear of not wanting people to lose hope he initially brought them), but when the main team looks to him as leader and they realize too late, it's only going to make him look worse. Too much heart clouds his logic.

Bonus: The DAD

Doland Moriarty (the dad)
(he's more of a side character but since I brought up Evlyn)

Dislike that Doland allowed his relationship with Evan (nephew, step-son) to be soiled with his disdain for his own brother, Mitch. Similar to Raffa too much logic clouds his heart.

Not revealed until a few episodes in but Evlyn was previously in a relationship with Doland's brother Mitch, until Mitch went to jail for a slew of crimes (Evan would have been 5 at time). Doland genuinely cared for Evlyn, married her, took Evan as his son and both of them worked hard to build their dream life (post Mitch), then gave birth to Owen (12) and Neon (5).
Doland is also the principal of the town's high school and his office echoes more of his backstory regarding the argument with Evan.
Evan's unstable nature may have also fueled Doland to remember his own brother. Also Evan calls him Doland never dad or uncle, making the man feel disrespected XD

Unfortunately if you don't stand up to people then you allow bad things to continue, but I get why the dad would be mad about Evan not picking his little brother up. Five is too young to go places alone
