Asking for a friend. Who am I kidding, no I am going to China for the summer and I need to know what websites and social media I won't be cut off from (besides WeChat obviously .^.)
I already know Google, SnapChat and Instagram won't work
I'm actually going to China at the end of this month myself, and I have also been wondering this If no one gets back to us, and I'm back before you leave, I'll let you know if I can access it XD
Tapas actually has several translated Chinese webtoons here. Like Evil Univeristy, Zombie Brother, and Cupid's Chocolate-ing. But if there a Tapas site there, I don't know. I do the big webcomic companies are U11, Tencent Comics and Animation, and the Chinese version of LINE Webtoons. U11 and Tencent seems to have made a deal with Tapas to translate some their comics into English.
I think it should work. I mean youtube worked when I went, but ofc that was over 10yrs ago (youtube doesn't work now). Facebook used to work too (that was also almost 10yrs ago ). I don't think Tapas is well-known enough to be on China's banned list yet, so chances are it will still work. I've never tried it though, sorry if I'm wrong
