I've been publishing under WebcomicsApp non-exclusively for over abt 1yr now? (i was one of the earlier OG contributors when they started) and it's been a good experience so far. The editors are really nice and lax if you have problems or need to call for a hiatus. Lately with the mass influx of new creators coming in, competition's grown and the rankings change a lot per week. So if you stay within the top 300 ranking, yes you do get paid. But much like Tapas ink I think, your payment (based on ranking stat) is accumulated and must reach a certain amount before it can be forwarded to you. So yes, it's a great opportunity to join, but know the fine print, do your research, and make sure it's the right platform for you.

If there's any questions that not otherwise already answered in this thread, feel free to hit me up! I'd be happy to answer ^v^

i just noticed something and i'm... quite confused?

This is a premium Tapas comic with paid episodes after EP6, and yet it showed up on WebComicsApp

HOWEVER....

on desktop i had access up to EP20 for free. But on app they're locked behind a paywall after EP6

i'm no expert but i'm pretty sure exclusivity deals don't work that way, lol.
am i missing something...? what's going on?

I'm betting someone doesn't know because webtoons is very tight with their control. You can't public online for a few years after. If you know who the person is you might wanna let them know....

I'm also confused. I introduced webcomic app to my friend because there is some good comic there that I want to share and I thought it would also help them with their writing since it's of the same elements (stories revolving around acting). Then they told me that they have to pay after a certain chapter, a problem I have never encountered before.

Then I tried to download it on my other phone and realized that the new version of the app now uses the coins system. The old one doesn't. Maybe they are currently shifting to that paid platform, but the process is slow?

Anyways I finally submitted mine for review yesterday. It took them a month to get back to you guys right?

yeah but lately poor Renee has been swamped! Last time took her almost 2 weeks to get back to us. So she must have been hit with a recent flood of stuff. try to give up to 2 months

I've submitted mine a little over a month ago and I still haven't heard anything from them.

Have I been ghosted? :joy:

No I think they are flooded. I sent Renee e-mails about once a week with our eps. She didn't get back to me for a bit and I was worried, she finial got back to me and was like "don't worry! We got them! Sorry we'vebeenswamped!"

ahhhh. It's a relief to know that. I just assumed they weren't interested lol.

considering she didn't get back to me for 2 weeks.... yeah I think they are overwhelmed right now.

It's a Tapas Premium, not Webtoons x )
And i'm pretty sure both of them are very possessive of their exclusive webcomics.

Not only the comic is published on a different platform, but also follows the same paid model on these two platforms.

Like... even WebComicsApp only allows the paid model if you sign an exclusivity deal with them, which it's clearly not an exclusive with the Tapas version still available. Not yet, at least...

I hope the artist is very aware of this cuz otherwise this looks shady as heck and i worry for them lol

Only their exclusive titles have paid episodes. But, as @Rodimus13 said, you can earn coins for free just by browsing the app at least once a day.

That's not the issue tho
the issue is... you can't sign an exclusivity deal when your work is already exclusive to another platform. WebComicsApp staff should know that before approaching the artist.
I'm almost tempted to ask my editor about this lol.....

indeed, this is hella weird... if this comic is already exclusive in tapas, before... someone is lying

by the way, Im exclusive but I think my comic is not under a paywall... I guess is only for the chinese titles

.... lol what's going on.
if it was published in a different language i can see how that could work but this? idk.
i did contact them regardless. i doubt they'll reply but if they did, maybe we can learn a thing or two on how they made it work.

i believe they only offer that to series with some degree of popularity, and not necessarily Chinese/Korean titles?

perhaps, perhaps... but I never saw any 'contributor' in a paywall, even cereus that I think its the most popular of us

Hey guys, Have you receive an email from Webcomicsapp that they will upgrade their program to increase creator's income~?
