It makes sense if some are dropped by the creators after the initial term of the contract is up. Real life can become pretty hectic. The immediate example that comes to mind is the comic "Teahouse" that had amazing marketting for it, blew up and became super popular and fans loved it, when the updates slowed and the pair Creators just decided to call it quits after 4 or so chapters had been released because medical life issues. It's a shame when it happens.
