Oh yay! Someone else finally listed Wild Thornberries! haha Come on people, SHE CAN TALK TO ANIMALS.
@natsdreamlings I love Helga. She's so well-written and tragic. She has all this potential but her family keeps her from truly exploring her genius. Ironically, they shunt her aside for her sister, who is only really half as smart as Helga despite appearances. Helga looks ugly and acts like a bully but is kind and sacrificing on the inside. She's a total tomboy who wears a pink bow and dress. She's considered as plain or normal but is a genius. She's seen as hard and mean but is a poet. She's just so contradictory because her surroundings shoved her into a corner and caused her to become something she's not - which is sadly, something a lot of youth experiences. And her obsession with Arnold is more than just a stupid crush or a gender stereotype; it's really a symbol of her lasting goodness despite it all. SHE'S JUST SO DEEP I LOVE IT. haha >///<
