Dragons and the phoenix.
And fae (things to do with fae around the world XD I think that's cheating).
I don't have a cool monster song, but I got a cool mythical being song:
ahem
Dragon Song?
I may or may not be a grown *ss woman who still cries at this song XD XD WTF is wrong with me? XD
Edit:
I can't read. The why:
Dragons—The question here isn't "why do you like dragons," but rather "why would you not?" J/k
I dunno, I've always liked them. I liked drawing them as a kid. I think Peter Paul and Mary really got me interested...and Smaug in the Rankin and Bass The Hobbit. The Flight of Dragons animated cartoon also. This got me to read The Dragon and the George in High School, which was another fave. The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede and just became obsessed XD I also like that so many different cultures have some version of dragons. They are awesome :3
The Neverending Story had a kick*ss luck dragon, too. They're just cool. I dig 'em.
Phoenix—I like Asian art and mythological beings, and I always like the artwork of the phoenix. I also really liked the '90s Phoenix saga...but didn't make as strong of connection with X-Men as I did with the bird XD (though I loved that cartoon and some of the comics. So. Many. Pockets. On everyone in the 90s).
Second edit: Fushigi Yuugi also helped solidify my love of the phoenix
Fae—I like a lot about Celtic mythologies and just faerie beings. There's so much to learn, and so many variations. This one is a bit cheaty, though, because you could consider a lot of monsters and beings as falling under the fae umbrella.
