A bunch of my favourites have already been mentioned (pangolins! tapirs! bearded vultures!), so I'll have to dig a bit deeper.
The Saiga antelope! Seriously my favourite antelope in the whole wide world, and I was heartbroken when I found out a bacterial infection had wiped out hundreds of thousands of them in 2015. They're not extinct - there are thousands of them left! - but still, their population took a serious hit.
Look at that doofy lil' nose! It looks like something out of a Star Wars cantina, but it is 100% genuine and not photoshopped at all. Their faces really do look like this:
Star-Nosed Moles! Like a regular mole, except their nose is terrifying!
And blindworms! They look like a worm, but they're actually a kind of legless lizard:
There are a bunch of them around where I live, and they're really friendly! You can pick them up and pet them if you want, but you need to be careful; one of their self-defence mechanisms is to shed their tail and scurry away while predators are busy chewing on the tail-stub.
