Dec 2024

Hi, I've missed y'all! Hope y'all are faring well this December. After taking an (unannounced) 2-month long break from Tapas/drawing due to bad fatigue and mental health, I'm finally feeling the urge to draw again. I feel bad that I didn't draw anything since October (I said I would, but couldn't keep that promise, and I am very sorry), so I'm trying to make up for my absence, guilt, and lack of productivity before the end of the year.

We got a little over a week until Christmas, so I naturally had a few last-minute ideas, lots of free time, and I need help on deciding. I arranged them in order of least effort to most:

Pick Two! (or one if you want the "all 3" one, lol, I don't mind...)

  • Friar Chicken Christmas Card - plain and simple, one festive panel on the 24th/25th.
  • FC Nativity Episode (might publish this after Christmas depending on the length, but you get to see the chickens again.)
  • Festive OC Drawing Thread (Human OCs!) - will keep this open for as long as I can
  • All 3? - I'll play them by ear.

9voters

Choose up to 2 options

There's honestly more ideas, but I'm trying to teach myself to slow down and prioritize -- I'm sure y'all get it.

Here's some festive stuff I did last year, if you're not familiar with my comic.

Please don't be shy on voting! I wanna end this year on a positive note (and pander to you guys, lol) ! And as always I plan to have fun and do my best no matter the choice(s)!

(As for when the comic will officially resume, I will let you know as soon as I have a few episodes done, might be late Jan/Feb of next year)

Aw, thanks, Kev! I'll admit I'm very addicted to overdoing things, and burning out. But I'm learning my paces, and right now after doing nothing for a while, I'm WAY too eager to do things again XD. Guess I'm feeling like I'm in a much better place than 2 months ago and I want to share the good feels with everyone around my fav holiday before this year ends.

I guarantee I'll calm down by January and I'll pause/stop if I need to rest. Promise!

I'm glad to hear, you are feeling better  and don't worry! Take the brakes you need. Art is supposed to be fun  I often take long brakes, because I don't feel artsy ^^' and I think, most here on this forum feel you

Just gonna give this a lil' bump in case someone still wants to vote (anonymously). I'll give it one more day (19th).

Also, in case you're wondering, I'm doing the 2 most popular options.
(I realize the "all 3" option kinda messes with the odds, but y'all have selected wisely despite my error, hehe)

Oh, I hope you feel better soon. Burn out is real, and nothing to feel guilty about. It's been a while since I've seen your plucky bird/avatar face around, it's good to have you back!

Thank you! I still checked on here from time to time and I'm glad you've kept going despite your burnout(s). It's really inspirational to see others still going. I really wanna check out your comic, been meaning to. I find that reading other's works puts me in that special mindset when I first started reading on Tapas and was thinking "Hey, I wanna do this too!" Been reading more this past month and I think that's the secret to getting inspired again, least for me.

You'll see my plucky humor in your comments soon (and others too, eventually!)
