Heya, I felt like making a list of all the pencils, pens and programs the people of Tapastic use for the drawings and/or comics. Feel free to tell me what you use. This can be a great list for people looking for material.

For me:
- 0.05-0.07mm mechanical pencils

- Heavy printer paper (28lb for 300 sheets) {These are for the comic pages}

I do my sketches/inks traditionally and then finish them digitally.

-Tombo Knock Mechanical Pencils 0.5
-0.5 Red and Black lead (red for rough sketches, black for cleaning those up)
-Canson Recycled Sketchbook Paper
-Bristol Vellum
-Pentel Pocket Brush Pen
-Kuretake Felt Tip - a few different sizes

Friend does the sketching/linearts/backgrounds in Manga Studio 5 and I do the coloring/shading/lettering in Paint Tool SAI 2. For non-comic things, I draw on paper with a basic #2 pencil, scan and open it in SAI, I resketch it with my brown sketch pen, and continue every step after with SAI. I used to do everything in pen first but switched back to a pencil recently because its easier to fix my mistakes

Pencil and paper is for practicing only. Making comic and illustration is full digital.

For just Runewriters, I use:

.5 mechanical pencils (I got spoiled on 2B and now HB feels too light)
Parker ballpoint pens
normal printer-paper-size cardstock
a printer & scanner (I use the Epson Workforce All-in-One, but that was a gift) so that I can print out pencils in non-photo blue, scan the inks and remove the blue
Photoshop CC ($10 a month subscription)
Wacom Graphire Blue 4x5 tablet. This is an old model, but I like it better than the new model, so I just keep finding copies of these online when my tablet needs to be replaced.

!!! I have the same printer/scanner and also do this! Except I print my pencils out in a light yellow, but same process of inking over it and removing them digitally.

Drawing: ragged Pentel 0.5mm mechanical pencil.
Inking: Copic Multiliner SP 0.5 and 0.2 or Illustrator, depending on project.
Scanning and cleanup: Photoshop.
Layout: Illustrator.
Color (when applicable): Photoshop or Illustrator, depending on project.

When I use paper these are the tools I use

-Prisma Markers (Grayscale)
-Faber Castel markers, and 0.005-3.0 pens.
-Sharpies
-0.5 lead mechanical pencils
-Basic printer paper
-Sketch book paper
-Scanner

I draw digitally 99 percent of the time now though...

-Huion H610 Tablet
-Paint Tool Sai
-Clip Studio Paint Pro
-Photoshop CS4

Digital: Manga Studio

Traditional: normal pencils, brush pen, ballpoint pen, ProMarkers, Windsor & Newton ProMarker paper

Traditional (this is only for the creation of the thumbnails, the actual comic is made digitally):
- mechanical pencil 0.5 HB or 2B
- any eraser
- blue or red coloured pencil
- regular printing paper

Digital:
- Clip Studio Paint Pro
- Maya 2011 (for dem complicated backgrounds and perspectives * - * )
- Wacom Intuos Pro tablet
- Any references for poses and backgrounds that I can find online. Use reference, they're lifesavers.

Well then, let's start XD I'm Cleo, the artist of Remember:

For my b/w manga pages I start off with:

tombow pencil (B or 2B) on normal copy paper
trace to 300g/m² Color Copy paper
ink with either Copic Multi Liner Black 0,3 / 0,1 OR Deleter G-Pen and Koh-i-noor ink
scan and add screentones and text with Manga Studio EX 4 (a very old Clip Studio Paint version)

for color artwork it's basically the same, I only use
- Canson 1557 Dessin Sketch Paper (because it can handle both, Copic AND watercolours)
- ink with Koh-i-noor (because it can handle both, Copic AND watercolours)
- color with Copic Ciao, Schmincke watercolours and Polychromos - my best friend for adding watercolours is an aquash tank pen (SO AWESOME!!!)
- White highlights with Dr. Ph. Martin's Pen-White (This ink holds even on the darkest copic spots!)

That's it basically =)

For more special effects I use the Schminke Horadam ink (they even have Gold and Silver ink!), it has more brilliance than watercolours =) You can see that here:

I used the ink around the eyes and the background at the top of the picture, and watercolours for the flowers at the bottom =) Skin and clothes are coloured with Copic, the blade with Copic C-grays and pencil.... yeah, that's usually what my pics look like, I love mixing medias XD

I'm still looking for "the perfect" paper, although my Canson 1557 Dessin is awesome, it is not perfect. I also tried Hahnemühle Bamboo Mixed Media Paper but the Copic was bleeding out of the lines on it.. =/ Any suggestions concerning that problem? If possible something you can get in Europe? XD

I'm also a digital artist using Paint Tool SAI. I'm surprised not too many folks listed the tablet they use. I use a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet, but used a Wacom Bamboo for a long time.

If I do comics by hand (its rare, but it happens), I use dip pens with black India Ink, and a crappy watercolor paintbrush for tones, also with India Ink. For colors, I use Copic Markers and Prismacolor Black and Brown liners (of various sizes). I use hot press 100lb bristol board 11x17in.

If I'm doing traditional work:

Staedler leadholder- either 2H lead or non-photo blue lead
Pentel Graph Gear 500 0.7 mm mechanical pencil- either HB lead or non-photo blue lead
white erasers or gum eraser
Ink mixture of Speedball super black india ink & Koh-i-noor black drawing ink
102/107 drawing nibs, #2 kolinsky sable brush, koh-i-noor technical pens, C-5 calligraphy nib
2-ply vellum finish bristol board (11"x 17" or 14"x 17")

If I'm doing digital work:

Clip Studio Paint- do all my drawing & inking with this program; plus special FX stuff during coloring phase
Photoshop CS5- do most of my coloring with this program
Illustrator CS5- do most of my lettering, logo, & ad making with this program
