Hey all! I thought it would be fun to make a thread dedicated to one of my favorite things, FOOD! So in this thread, I want you to post the recipes for your favorite food and drink of any kind! Or even just food/drink that you find really interesting! I will absolutely be trying the ones that my cooking skills (and tastebuds) allow me to try, and I want to encourage you to do the same, I'll share my successes (and failures) here for you to laugh at!
One of my favorite meals is easy, it's Pasta in Lemon-Caper-Butter Sauce (not complicated and actually surprisingly cheap, I promise! As long as you can get capers, but I can get them at my local Walmart, and I don't live in a big city, or anything...)
Ingredients:
(these are really just...guidelines, you can kind of do this recipe based on taste and preference alone, this is just approximately how I make it!)
-1/2 box of spaghetti noodles (honestly, whatever noodle floats your boat will do, I'm not the noodle police)
-3 tablespoons of butter
-3 tablespoons of lemon juice (or to taste, 3 tablespoons may be too much for some people! I personally like lemons, so I tend to put even more than 3 tablespoons in...)
-2 teaspoons garlic (my heritage is Italian, and I measure garlic with my heart, so this is just an example...)
-3 tablespoons capers- non pareil (I freaking adore capers, so this is something else I measure with my heart hahaha)
How to do the thing:
Boil your pasta according to the directions, drain and set aside. Melt butter in a frying pan. Add garlic and let simmer for a smol while, not more than 5 minutes. Add lemon juice and capers, let simmer for about 5-7 minutes, or until some of the capers kind of...burst? Just don't burn the stuff and you'll be fine! Turn off the heat, and remove the frying pan from the burner, then merge the pasta and the sauce together for a glorious meal!
If you try my recipe, let me know if it goes well or not, and if I need to adjust my ingredient amount suggestions lol!
