Hi! I’m a young author who just started publishing some of my recent projects. I’ve loved both reading and writing for a very long time, and I hope I can grow and improve with the support of the Tapas community!

Ahh, I see. You might consider editing a poll into your original post; that way, you won't have to manually count responses. Let the computer count responses for you. It's also easier to click a button than to type out an opinion, so a poll might help you get more responses anyways.

@rudepanda If you include a link to your comic, it will be so much easier for people to find it. Having to search the site takes way more time and effort than a simple click.

Are you looking for people to give their opinion about which one is better? I don't think I quite understand your thread. If you want opinions, it might be easier to make a poll instead of having to manually count responses.

Here are some links to other threads if you want to hear others' opinions on the matter. //https://forums.tapas.io/t/update-schedule-dilemma-pages-per-update-and-the-time-gaps/9430 //https://forums.tapas.io/t/updating-schedules/33349/2 //https://forums.tapas.io/t/best-update-schedule/8242/2

Nobody has cracked the perfect update schedule yet, but there are benefits to either one of your options. If you post more frequently, your series will show up on 'Fresh' more often, meaning you might get more exposure. If you post longer updates, it might help with the flow of your story (this part…

The very first thing I noticed was that you introduce a lot of characters very quickly. In the prologue alone, you mention 16 names: Miyuki-sensei, Haniel, Dagiel, Gabriel, Uriel, Cassiel, Lucifer, Asta the Titan, Lariel, Samael, Azrael, Raziel, Azazel, the Mother, Trizael, and Salsa. I'm sure that …

Sure, the (incomplete) list is as follows. From The Girl From Tomorrow: 1. In Paragraph 2, the sentence "He spoke the truth..." has punctuation errors. If the comma were a semicolon or dash, you wouldn't have a comma splice. The existing semicolon doesn't work because the last clause is dependent;…

Sorry this is a bit off topic (in regards to the rest of the thread). I haven't seen the movie. I hate seeing movies after I've read a good book because I feel like the movie never lives up to the original work.

Hello! The forum is mostly made of other creators, with very few readers. However, many creators will be willing to do a sub-for-sub, do a promotion, give feedback, or simply read your novel because it's good. If you want to know how to maintain readers, try updating consistently. Readers may not be…

@Larslaustsen @TJSchongar Aw, thanks! But Legerdemain would be better if I actually wrote it, wouldn't it? LOL

Hello! I only read your first one, and it was interesting. There were quite a few grammar mistakes, like run-on sentences, rambling sentences, missing commas, etc., but the content itself was entertaining and somewhat thought-provoking.

One of my favorite book series in terms of writing style is The Inheritance Cycle by Christoper Paolini. It has a lot of swords, dragons, and magic if that's your thing. I really like several aspects about the writing: 1. he introduces one character at a time, and characterizes them before introduci…

Hello, welcome. If you copy and paste the URL for your comic into your post, it will allow other users to click on the link and will make finding your comic much easier, like @koreantacos said.

Some of the phrases are a little weird, and there are some grammatical issues. For example: With a pipe? This is written in passive voice, which writers generally want to avoid. It would typically be better to say that "he heard noises from the hollow walls that surrounded his study, and th…

I like your idea - it's a good way to judge whether you'll like the novel besides just reading the summary. Here's my paragraphs: The moonlight glinted off the metal window frame, highlighting the silhouette of a little girl. She rested her arms on the windowsill with her long, amber hair tumbling…

Ah, that sounds like so much fun! The most experience I have with Shenzhen is from a Youtuber who was staying there as an expat, and she seemed to be enjoying herself.

I've never been to India before, but it's somewhere I'd like to eventually go. How did you like the trip?

I've visited China before for a few weeks, and it was great! I was traveling all over the place, so I went to Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, and Nantong. What about you? Where in China did you go?

Are you not allowed to? I'm not entirely sure if comics are different, but I can schedule several episodes at a time for a novel. I just keep making episodes and scheduling them for later times.

Tired  but besides that, pretty okay. I've got my creative juices flowing right now so I'm writing way too late, lol. You?

Since you were originally curious to see how long a thread will run for, here's a link to the TAPAS Character Cafe. I think it's the longest running thread so far, and it's at 21.1k replies right now. It did automatically close at 10k (just like Wattpad), but was manually reopened by michaelson. He …

I understand that we aren't a super high priority, but it would still be a nice feature to have, in my opinion. Whether or not the Tapas team decides to implement it is a different question entirely. I don’t mean to say the Tapas team doesn't care, either. I just think trying to listen to the opin…

Why shouldn't you have that capability if you aren't premium? Many creators already give early access to chapters on Patreon, but it would be much easier for readers to get the content directly from Tapas. And besides, it would benefit Tapas as well because readers would be spending and buying more …

This is actually the system Webtoons uses for their featured comics. As far as I know, it's effective because there's a lot of comments from people who have bought episodes early. I think that would be a great idea!

Uhmmm...I don’t actually know. I just googled some relevant words for what I was looking for, chose a photo I liked, made sure it was free, and used it. I don’t remember what site, sorry. :grimacing: Ooh, I would definitely read that if you put it up!

Right now, Legerdemain is just a novel because I can't afford to hire anyone as an artist. But if I need something drawn, usually I ask my friend to do it. For example, she drew my profile picture. I can edit, though, so I did my own thumbnail by finding a stock photo on the Internet and using Canva…

So I read your novel, and I am liking it so far. The summary is funny, and definitely drew me in. Especially the parts that say "handsome yandere dragon" and "a god ready to quit his job by chapter 3." Qiu Ling gives the impression that he is clingy, as he can't even stand two hours before missi…

I'm Allyx! Hi, nice to meet you all. I joined Tapas as a reader in January of 2019, and published the first episode of my series Legerdemain on April 22, 2019. Here's a link for shameless self-promotion: 3. I write novels and storyboards for comics. I'm not an artist, unfortunately. 4. My favor…

Tapas recommends 500-1500 words per episode, so you're probably better off posting by scene. Besides, it will help increase your exposure if you cut the chapters and post them, say, a day apart.

I'm not sure there's enough readers on the forums right now to get a good answer, since you're looking for only readers and not creators. However, if you don't find a reader, I have a suggestion: a dragon. They're my favorite mythical creature.
