I was already subscribed to this so that's already a step in the right direction. My opinions on the series haven't changed. I'll rip the bandaid off, if I'm being honest, the text makes it a bit harder to read. I've grown used to it and it has gotten better, but at least up until we get the bedtime stories it's a bit muddled and hard to follow, when I first joined up I had to reread it a few times. Granted I made the right choice doing so because of the fantastic art, Arab inspiration which is very rare to see nowadays, but you've made it your own, but better and because of the consistent quality, however I can say not everyone is like me and this is something to think about going forward.
On the text I will say you narrowly avoided a pet peeve of mine in comics, when it comes to lore you have to break it up with pictures so the audience isn't overwhelmed and you did catch that and provide some which was great! My only advice on that front is to add more! Go all out! Comics are a visual medium and you've got a visual hook so why hide it? Now I know what you're thinking: that equals more detail and more work. What if I told you you could keep the detail while cutting the work in half? I truly believe that while the art is beautiful, you could easily scale back some of it and focus on key characters, locations and objects and you would lose nothing for the story. The first shot of everyone was great, but because there's so many people drawn in the same amount of perfect detail it made it a tad hard for my eyes to settle on one person and the end result is that all those details blend together! Crazy right?
I want to again praise the direction of the Arabian/Eastern inspiration because that is something I RARELY see in media at all, especially when it's handled well and its also got tangles in magic so good job for that! You've got a good little comic going on and if I could resubscribe I would!
