From where do featured artists get full 3d background sets?

I am interested in making story-based webtoons set in the Victorian era, Regency era etc., so I would need full palaces or mansions, with a ballroom, opulent bedrooms and exterior, gardens etc., with pretty detailed decorations, that I can reuse from any angle I need.

I learned to use Sketchup a bit but it would take months to design every window, lamp, table etc. myself, and to use objects made by others is controversial for commercial use since their legalities are unclear. I couldn't find many things in the assets in the warehouse of Clip Studio Paint.

The best example is "Your Throne" from Line Webtoons, that has, like, a German village, a mansion, a castle, a Greek plaza with a temple, with interiors, walls with Rococo-inspired patterns. ..

Many such artists are Korean, I understand the language a tiny tiny bit and when I searched in it I found websites selling whole Sketchup, themed cities for hundreds of dollars! One Greek city looked very similar to the one from Your Throne. I searched the author of Your Throne and I didn't find any previous webtoon by them.
Is this how they do it, make such an investment and be confident that their art is top-notch and will bring them profit? Did anyone here buy such sets or managed to make a city on their own in a reasonable amount of time? I really couldn't find any clear information.

Edit: my dum dum as s searched a few mimutes more and found everything I needed for free among clip paint assets.

Those featured artists have the funds to buy complete assets or hire an assistant to do it for them.

The very first image looks like a detailed 3d church model. Is this so because it is the English translation, which maybe appeared later (the story is many episodes behind compared to the Korean one according to its wiki)? The artist got featured and was adviced to revamp previous episodes by agents or sth?

I think it various from artist to artist. I'm not familiar with how webcomics work in Korea, so someone can correct me if I get anything wrong.
But I know some Korean artists work for small companies (maybe made up of like less than 10 people) that Naver sometimes (Line WT's parent company) contracts to produce webtoons.

I can't get Webtoons to work for some reason, so forgive me if I misunderstood the question, but if you need 3D backgrounds to use for reference, a somewhat cheaper alternative could be... The Sims you can build the house/scenery you need and take pictures from any angle you want. If you look around for custom content, you can find plenty of useful items to help you build what you need... I'd recommend checking ModTheSims for a start, but there's plenty of stuff on Tumblr too. I use both The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 a lot as references for my drawings, they can be really useful, especially for figuring out complicated perspectives!

Thank you for your answer! I love doing rooms in Sims and downloading meshes and mods lol. It'd be my first choice, but reading about it people debate a lot if it's legal, saying that there's a very small chance of someone caring enough to sue you, especially if you edit it so not much of the original remains, but they still say to stay on the safe side. "I wouldn't use it, but if you're brave enough to risk it, go for it! " doesn't sound very encouraging

Yeah, that seems true, especially since they seem to be trained for this, too, there's like 1 school for comic drawing in my country and I doubt they talk about manga a lot.
I wanted to go to a Master's program for digital drawing, was excited seeing they had a course for making 3d models, then saw they use a program and books from 2003

I'm not a featured artist anywhere, lol, but I do make all my backgrounds in 3d beforehand. 3d Warehouse has a ton of models you can use and is your best resource if you're using sketchup. I use Blender personally and my go to resources are Turbosquid and Blendswap. What you can do as well is find parts and piece them together if you can't find a full model. This is what I usually do and it's pretty easy as well.

3d warehouse is under the royalty free license I believe (however, their license is the most tricky and I am unsure of this), as is Turbosquid. The license for Blendswap are variations on CC-by, and even some are CC-0

Some of them might be Uncle Mugen VN backgrounds. The guy created a bunch of 3D anime inspired backgrounds to use for free and I have seen them used in VNs and some comics.

Ah, yes, legal issues can be a little worrying... personally, what I do is use the pictures I take as a general reference, but I do not copy everything exactly as it is simplify details, change colors, use different patterns... basically, anything that can help you differentiate it enough from the original thing to avoid issues, lol. That way, you should be safe!

I bought a few using the clipstudio asset store and some I modeled myself. My tip for CSP is try to discover the right tags in japanese. It unlocked me A LOT of stuff that I didn't find using english words.

I use the game the sims I don't think it would be enough for ballet room or big places, but it's pretty usefull as a base and very easy to use tho.

however you'll need to download engine which is free and learn how to assemble levels..it's not that hard =) or use some 3d software to render exported fbx files

You can download free 3d .obj files on any site that offers them and import the files into Clip Studio Paint if you can't find any in the asset store. I've downloaded castles and imported them that way.
