Funny things you do for your story

So we all have little things we do to try and make our comics and stories better. In our case, it gets doubled because I'm sitting there trying to keep everything straight and add good world building (culture and stuff) that won't always make it in directly, but will affect things in general.

The hubby will do things like the picture below because dang it the sodas aren't gonna be called soda, some company makes them! And there of course would be many flavors.

I want to know what you guys do for your stories that are kinda silly- but you feel makes sense or adds depth.

and almost every crowd scene I draw has a thousand backstories that never get told.

I think in the last 4 episodes I added a new section called "Extra! Extra!" where I feature a comment from the previous episode to make a funny pannel or 4-koma based on a meme

When I want to draw the character in unusual pose, I'm often using references. Usually it is the simple 3D model of the character, which I force to take different positions to copy. But if I don't understand how to make model position look good and natural, I'm posing in front of the mirror and making photos of myself for reference. Of course, I'm doing it when nobody sees. (˵ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°˵)

since the tone of my story is "dark and mysterious" more often than not, i thought i should make my end-cards (contact info and whatnot) something that lightens up the mood a bit. But to make it both fun to me and worth looking at every time, i decided to make it something contextual to the episode itself. And recently i even tried telling a mini sequential story as well. Here is a sample

The location itself is somewhere from the episode itself. And I plan to make a new unique end-card for each chapter as well. It's a lot of effort, but personally i think it's worth it one the long run ^^

I draw some wheat fibers in the backgrounds and I don't know why. I love to hide them in random places.

I have that one character that literally emits flowers when he's happy. xD

Sometimes me and my friend (who has some of the plot spoiled for helping purposes) imagine funny moments my characters would get into. I plan illustrating some of them in my comic or at least in the extras to it.

I hide many details around my comic, like earlier cameos of future characters, hints of certain plot twists/future jokes among others.

Every once in a while i do little games, like asking the readers to guess how the main character will get out of a situation (after dropping some subtle hints) and asking them to find in which pages a certain character is hidden.

Funny things...I let the readers decide stuff!! XD Last comic many were asking for a magical boy outfit for one of the characters, so I included an illustration and a panel of the comic

I'm including surprise cameos and jokes that came from the comment section.

Recently I have a guessing game, which character owns some stuff. One reader got it right

I want the reader to feel like this comic is our little corner to hang out.

I'm not sure if this counts but the fact that Frank has thousands of clones means that I have to occasionally drop them in their everyday lives outside the mother ship.

This is absolutely brilliant and such a sharp edge for what would otherwise be glanced over with time, wow. Love that you took into consideration the heavy narrative -- a light end card is the perfect setting to mention other places to keep track of your work!

Tiger on the Storm is rife with military in jokes and tiny sight gags, like bombs or missiles with little love notes to Saddam Hussein on them, pilots always weighing too much, little things like that. And there's a little sardonic humor, for instance, a panel showing Col. Sawyer drinking water out of his canteen has the caption, "At least the water's not radioactive."

I hide the title of each Episode in the one before.

I also try to put in as many literary Easter eggs as I can (since my main character is a Librarian)!

Most my action scenes involving guns, and are made to look as FPS, so I bought a toy gun and playing around home with it, taking cover, reloading and all such things. Also then I've bought a toy assault rifle, SMG. Also a shotgun, real one this time Everything is used when I need references about gun handling
