Genre combinations you want to see

What are some genre combinations you don't normally see in media that you'd think would be pretty cool? And not just like x-genre with y-genre elements but that the genres are primary in the story.

I, for one, would love to see a fantasy horror story. I think it would be a pretty fresh if the setting takes place in a different fantastical world as opposed to the modern world like most horror, plus the main thing that makes horror scary is the unknown, and you could really play with audience's heads not knowing everything about this whole other world making them question which parts are “normal” for the residents of that world and which parts are actually horrifying for them (and maybe it can even be both!)

I want to see more horror incorporated into everything. I really want to see some more horror/romance stories. Not just the serial killer ones that seem popular these days (she says as she kind of wrote one lalalala). But like... romance that takes place in typically gothic horror settings, or a romance that takes place between a truly horrific monster and a human. Like... more dark romance please. Not just vampires and werewolves. Give me a Cthlulu love story. Do it. Come on someone PLEASE.

Not enough of these. Aliens or zombies was done to death, give me all the robots, androids and cyborgs, clones or other experiments and all the handsome scientists out there
Bonus points for something big going on in the background, like humanity struggling with dystopia, war or post-apocalypse.
Soldiers, oh my gosh all the cyberpunk soldiers too!

Modern + Cultivation

I love all cultivation novels, and while my favourite is indeed the xuanhuan / xianxia type novels, I do sometimes want a breath of fresh air in this genre, so modern cultivation could be quite fun to read.

I'd love to see Scifi/Noir stories. There are little of them out there. Honestly, I'd love to see anything with scifi. I think it works with any type of genre. Similar to Fantasy.

I actually wrote this. I dubbed it 'Cosmic Horror Romance' and honestly, Henry is pretty horrifying but it's also BL, so no one cares and ships it anyway. (Like for real, BL fans are you ok?) Although, once the reveal happens and what he is gets revealed, I'm not so sure that people will find it all so romantic.

EDIT: actually, I just remembered Shape of Water exists and people still find that incredibly romantic and sexy so nvm.

Cosmic horror is my jam. And cosmic horror romance is the bomb. Kinda hinting towards that for Our Universe. You just can't go wrong.

But in general, I would like to see more paranormal romances outside of werewolves, humanoid demons, and vampires (she says, acting like My Demon Valetnine doesn't exist).
