Scott McCloud's books are such a great tool for making comics
I read all of them before I even started working on mine and I highly recommend them to everyone. even if you're like 100 chapters in it's good to study the basics.
also @emibudd I wouldn't worry about it, you just started posting and comments matter more when it comes to getting your comic seen by more people.
I like your artstyle its really interesting, although inconsistent at times with some pages looking cleaner than others like they're drawn with a ballpoint pen, then the next page the linework will be smooth like you used a marker. I suggust thicker outlines for the characters, cause although this is a manga-like story, it helps the characters pop out more which is better for clarity.
your paneling is also off sometimes but I'm not gonna fault you there imo it's the hardest part of making comics.
and try to keep the words off the edges of the dialogue bubbles
and I know it's the first chapter so the pacing is gonna be weird regardless
people do this a lot where they'll introduce a character, via "hi I'm X and I X" then introduce them again right after by having them meet someone. You only need that one introduction with Tomo meeting their friend cause theres a lot more to be said there if that makes sense.
hope none of this was harsh, I really do think your art is cool and would love to see what it evolves into in the future of the story, good luck
