You can use what you already make for posts! What I did was stack up a lot if old art i hadn't posted and planned out what I posted with the app "Later". Gives me time to plan posts ahead of time so all I have to do is post and slap some tags on it when it comes time. Or you can set it up to post automatically, if you prefer.

lol had no idea you can even schedule post. thats rad, ill check it out. thanks!

Thanks for the post :+1: I was thinking about doing stuff on IG, but honestly, the upkeep sounds excruciating...it just sounds like nonstop treading water - that's just me though!

It's not as much work as it sounds, it's just a matter of building a rhythm! To each their own, though!

Thanks for all the tips! I didn't realize that videos were that big, I gotta get on that.

Yeah, my video posts are still getting likes and comments and they are months old now.

OH this is so good!
I haven't gotten Instagram quite yet so this will give me a running start :sparkles:
Could you link yours? : >

oh shit... posting daily used to really work for me, but it has really dipped lately? man, im gonna have to rework my entire insta schedule

They're apps to download apart. IG doesn't have that things incorporated, in fact, I think they violate their ToS.

I read somewhere that, to avoid being caught by IG because of that, these apps are not automatized. They're real people with tones of phones, who you give access to your account and they post for you.

I don't know how legit is that info, but it's not the first time someone download one of those apps, cause there are variety of them, and after setting it, they recieve the notification that someone is trying to access their account

Be careful with those things.

Yeah no, don't do things like "social sensei" and stuff like that. They do that "follow tons of people then mute them" thing, which is a skeevy way to get attention imo, plus you get a bunch of people who don't give a diddly darn about your art!

To your list I would add, do a clean-up every so often

It feels good to go through your posts sometimes and put away in the archive those ones that now don't look so appealing. I had to do a lot of posts to get a grasp of how IG works. Now I retired like a quarter of them :no_mouth:

I don't know if it really worthed it for the algorithm, but it seems like it adds attractive, as when you retire old pieces from your portfolio

From what I know, IG values those posts that generated more interaction

You are correct! Making your feed look pretty will attract someone visiting your profile to potentially follow to make the choice! I like to use Later to plan my grid out! It's very useful as a planning tool!

Sure enough, but I never get to be able to plan ahead.

Right now I just came out of the school year and I have no buffer of anything :joy:

I even had things pending to finish from time ago that I'm finishing right now. Like this fanart: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bz1A2HyipmZ/3

So Later would not be very useful as I even rarely get to use the schedule set of Tapas

I know it sounds counter productive, but if you take a break from posting to build up a backlog, you'll have a much better time going forward. It's made every change in the world. I also searched through old art to see what I hadn't posted. I found a whole lot of stuff that still had quality! I suggest doing the same thing, and maybe throwing in photos of art related content such as wips on your desk or your favorite supplies. The "checkerboard" method has served me well.
