Interesting...as a business model how do you feel this is working?...seeing that by and large digital comics are distributed free and/or free with patreon or some other support?
that's awesome! Do you just use 8.5 x 11 layouts?
If you've printed, your comic how did it go? What was formatting like vs. online here? If you plan to, what's your vision for that?
@jurinova yes, those are amazing lemme show yall, tuna salad - 1 can tuna ~ tsp pepper ~tsp celery seed ~1tbsp relish ~1tbsp mayo ~1/2 tbsp. horseradish ~1/2 chopped celery stalk
obviously the art is strong, but strong art is only a fraction of the equation and will mean more or mean less depending on the applied intent. are these images part of a story? I'm with you on the discomfort in pimping stuff on social media...all those beggars are kinda cringey… THE MOST IMPORTAN…
you look at the old Jack Kirby era comics, they were simple, quick and dirty, but the focus is on the idea more so than having your breath taken away from the artwork. Personally, covers and single pieces of art, I put immensely more effort into than my panels in storytelling. My comic is less abou…
The first one, the guy, with his background being the same height as him and four sided, leads me to think he is grounded, a routine kind of guy. The top of his rectangle is slightly tilted to the girl, Zydre, leading me with the impression is he devoted to her. Her background is a triangle, leading…
I should probably do that For me, there's three - not necessarily panels, but overalls and concepts that have stuck with me in the late 90's I had a Wolverine comic and there was a panel/page where he was coming out of a vat of acid and his flesh was totally gone from the stomach down...I don't…
Any 'issue' where there are passionate sides, one side is going to show the other side in the worst light, misrepresent, hyperbolize, and/or flat out lie about something. It's like a Fun House walk through the Hall of Mirrors out there - you can't trust ANYTHING you see, hear at face value
if people had to raise and slaughter their own meat, there'd be a lot less of it eaten...and wasted
I do wall art paintings and I take a long time on those, but with my comic, I feel the focus is by and large on the story. I'm a big fan of impressionist/post impressionist painters...that combined with the understanding of being a comicbook reader myself, the amount of time a person realistically …
could you just title each episode the intended title? or run them all under the banner of a single comic...like Tales From the Crypt So the title of the series - Tales From the Crypt, run the cover page before each tale, then the story title...?
I forgot about this til I saw your thread - I've been on the other end of this - at least my kid a few years ago. I'm coaching soccer and my kid's on the team. He practiced in a field area with multiple fields. So we're leaving and his ball is gone. I'm looking around and can't find it anywhere w…
this phenomenon isnt unique to comics, I developed video games for about 5 years and this came up often...when I see those thread posts, all I see is "Idea guy needs workhorse to realize his/her dream"
best thing for cats is a screened in porch/deck. They get the enjoyment of being outside (sounds, smells, weather, some interaction with outside creatures), without the danger
probably a week in, just work on the comic. people like to binge, so once you've established probably 10 episodes or so, then start to worry...
SpongeBob - Musical Doodle Ariana Grande - Love Me Harder
I think the perception here culturally, currently is that if you're in your 30's and aren't married, you're most likely a problematic head case with tons of baggage... If waiting longer to even start dating is becoming a trend, then this might change...I do kind of like the idea of having everythi…
when I have an idea, 2 weeks later if I still think its a good idea, I'll put it in my mental que...I have about two dozen projects in there...I may actually realize 1/3 of them and they have an expiration of about 6 months
Thanks for the post I was thinking about doing stuff on IG, but honestly, the upkeep sounds excruciating...it just sounds like nonstop treading water - that's just me though!
Tough one - I went with strawberry/banana simply because I use them constantly with blueberries in making milkshakes...but if we're talking just a juice or a bowl of the actual fruits combined, I'd have to go Mango/Pineapple...which are also amazing in salsa
There's nothing wrong with your art, it looks great...here's a doodle I just did...your plight is echoed by hundreds of thousands of people...probably today alone [image]
I think anything repetitive gets like that...like Squidward with canned bread, improv dance, clarinet quartet, repeat...
Nice thread! I'm 37, I've floated between video games, fine art and music...I decided to finally try working on a comic when I got a Wacom tablet a couple months ago
The old timers would talk about the woman rejecting a man multiple times and his persistence as respectable...maybe even desirable because it A) displayed the woman's selectiveness and B) showed the woman how committed the man was to her. Today...I don't know if this still flies...probably just mo…
Actually, it's my first comic...The idea is set around a group of people with a unique...ability to bring to the table and face the impending destruction of the world. Members of this group - the Zodiac group - learn they may not all have the same intent and grapple with their roles in the apocalyps…
