hehehe....I use DAZ3D for The Shadow War, and build the set and models out of existing stuff. Doesn't matter, I am going to modify it anyway when I get to the art part. I use full lighting, since I need the details and contrast. I then render it, and convert the render to line art.
Print the whole page at 10" x 15" (two sheets of paper) then put a comic board over it, take it to the light box, and start the traditional art. I ink it, leaving out the details I don't want, and fixing all of the details I do want, and then do sumi ink washes. From there, we go full multi-media, with watercolour, coloured pencils, charcoal pencils, coloured inks, and airbrush for some special effects, shadows, and highlights. Then I scan it back in to do the lettering.
Still takes me about 8-12 hours to do a page.
