Handling excessively graphic scenes in your comic

I have a pretty graphicly violent and disturbing panel coming up in the next episode of Arbiter's Wake but not quite sure on how I should go about censoring it, since it's definitely too gruesome to put up on Webtoons or Tapas according to the TOS.

How do you go about censoring material like this in your webcomic?

I wanted to put all uncensored material behind my Patreon so people could have access to it if they really wanted to see the comic in all of its graphic nature..

But I'm sort of unsure about how to handle the panel once censored. Is a blur enough..? Is it just left out? .. Tips appreciated!

I'd suggest either cutting panels, putting straight up censors, or editing the page in a way that doesn't fully show it. That's mostly a suggestion of like, if you have a place where you can put the uncensored version. It's what I'm going to do with the more graphic scenes of my comic when it comes.

However, you could also put the mature filter on that episode and do a trigger warning at the beginning. However I don't know if that is going to push the limit, depending on what you plan on putting up.

I did add this and you'd think "oh okay that should be good then."

But then it becomes a liability problem lol.

I'd just add a warning sign and leave it as that. I have a scene where a man gets shot in the head. I have added the scene here. he bled out. wasn't a big deal. I think you will be fine as long as you have a warning sign ahead and mark it as mature.

Yeah, add a warning sign (also just polite in addition to staying within TOS) and then market as mature. As long as there's enough fair warning that no readers are likley to flag it you're probably good. I've definitely handsome scenes that were on or over the edge of what's technically allowed on Tapas, and doing that has worked fine so far.

When I first drew this page, I showed Terry's cut and bleeding hand from having picked up pieces of a glass that had shattered on the floor. In the remake I decided that it was a bit too graphic and bandaged up his hand.

I warn you, though, I find the occasional vomit indiscretion shot quite tempting. I do like some grit in my story.

I just activate the Mature warning in those pages. That should be enough.
