Yes yes yes! Hue Are You came from a dream where I dreamt I was a little robot who just wanted to build but there were no humans around. A lot of the beginning events are right from that dream

I had a dream that gave me an idea for a story.

Basically my dream (it was very weird) was that it was my wedding and the bouquet throwing turned into a game where people tossed the bouquet at each other. Then someone threw it at my grandmother (and apparently that was a bad omen or something) and she collapsed. I was sent to look for help and I ended up in an abandoned village where something was lurking in the shadows.

I'm hoping to develop this into something but it needs a lot of work to become a sensible story.

Every single day of my life!

Sometimes, in some weird... strangely macabre drawings. like this!

All the damn time.

Normally the ones where I’m close to waking up so things are eerily realistic enough for me to think it’s actually happening, but at the same time it’s still a dream so weird stuff is going on.

This can range from interesting stuff to mundane stuff like one time I dreamed my sister came over cuz I swore I heard her voice. So when my mom woke me up the first thing I asked was if my sister had brought her puppy over. My mom had no idea what I was talking about. Or this other time I dreamed my cousin had come over for a visit and I was so convinced of it that I rolled out of bed thinking “I need to get up and not waste any time of his visit”. Then I stood upright and remembered he wasn’t there at all, got disappointed, went back to bed.

Also I’m Narcoleptic so my REM sleep is all jacked up, but it occasionally is useful for remembering dreams more clearly. Down side is you can also get hallucinations upon going to sleep or upon waking up, often with sleep paralysis with it. And what you see is always scary. In my case it’s bugs. But if I wanted to I could use the horrible images that I repress, I just can’t do it horrifying justice with my art.

I never remember my dreams either ^^; so no. I'm kinda surprised how common this seems to be actually

yep my comic is legit based on a dream i had where i made this exact comic

i obv changed some things to like, smooth over the process and some jokes that didnt make sense but overall!

I dream scenes I haven't written yet for the book, and when I'm stuck in a story section, book or short, I often dream the solution. Letting my subconscious figure out the solution to a problem is something I learned back in high school. It works for more than just writing.

Yup. My most recent comic is based on a dream I had back in October (Halloween season~):

I dream up new comic ideas all the time (more often than I'd like...). However, I rarely dream about existing comics, and when I do it's usually stuff that I wouldn't dare put down on paper in real life. ^^' Keepin' it PG...

Yes, very often. I even keep a notebook next to my bed so I can write down ideas before I forget them. Some dreams have been complete stories, that sometimes continue over time.
Many dreams I've turned into short stories.

Yup, i've made some old comics based off dreams and recently I actually redesigned an entire area of my comic based off a dream. I was planning just to have a generic city and then fantasy woods right next to it but kept having dreams of overgrown abandoned cities and worked it into the plot of my comic.

My answer is yes. Did I ever get ideas when showering? Yes. Did I ever get idea by doing nothing (daydreaming)? Yes. Did I ever get ideas by simply listening to people's talking? Yes.

I got ideas a lot but I just can't really create them lmfao. X'D

cool!

your working on your comic even when ur asleep

now thats dedication!

thanks the dream gods

I was never inspired by a specific dream i made but i do remember being inspired to make a comic that was talking about dream travellers. This is because my dad always tell me "you live more in dreams rather than reality" which is true because i always feel in the real world when i dream at night, my dreams are so lucid and intense! And when i'm awake i usually like daydreaming so yeah... I thought about this girl being able to travel inside other people's cursed dream they can't even wake up from (very much like Sleeping Beauty) xD

nope but i daydream all the time about the story, its not the same but...how cool is to dream like that? i kinda envy you on that.

I'd say I dream of my 'big scenes' and 'point of no returns' for stories about 85-90% of the time,

then afterwards the problem is stitching them together so it makes sense
