Has anyone had their comic published?

I'm asking this because I've been looking to print a chapter of my comic for a comiccon,
But it's asking me about tax. It's a US website and I have no idea what they're talking about. I'm based in the UK.

If anyone knows about tax, please tell me.

The united states has certain states which tax goods sold over the internet, including books - i don't know what site you are on but you may want to ask their customer support/check their FAQ on how they handle international requests.

Ka-Blam seems to be the recommended printing company for comics. And it's all online, so it shouldn't be limited to certain country regulations. But I never used them so I may be wrong?

wouldn't it be cheaper with a printer based in the UK? Because you'll have shipping to pay right?

Yeah, if you're in the UK, just go with a local printer. Here's some UK ones:

http://comicprintinguk.com/ - Rich is great and does work for loads of UK small pressers, so I'd definitely recommend him.

But in the past I've also printed with Inky Little Fingers and they were also ok (though maybe not as helpful for beginners!)

I've also heard https://mixam.co.uk/ is quite good for value, though I have yet to try them.

I asked my friend who published their work from the website before, after he showed me it was quite simple.
But the most annoying part was scaling the pages to fit to their standards.

I looked at the uk ones too. It's just that my uni recommended this website called CreateSpace

We have used Createspace before, it's been awhile, but it was good when we used it.

I've found Lulu to be pretty good, I printed my first comic using it and it doesn't ask for a tax number, unlike createspace (which I can't really adivse you on :c) . It's a little bit more expensive than CreateSpace especially for colour, but I thought it was worth it.
