Have you ever made a comic in a different language?

I have it was called The Kiwi Girl and it was entirely in French. I didn't know French and I used Google Translate for a lot of it. Anyway, the comic is completely gone now.

Sometimes I feel enticed to translate my comic into Swedish, but it's such a minor language I don't know if its worth the effort...

Yes, I made a few small strip comics in Spanish when I was in high school. XD

I don't know where they are now. But the grammar was probably really terrible anyways.

I'm Polish and I'm making all my comics in English.
Did a few random comic pages in German too, way back.

I don't have a webcomic, but if I did, I would feel a strong desire to put out a version in Esperanto.

Long ago I made one page in Polish using Google Translate, it was very incorrect
And when I was studying Japanese I made one short strip in Japanese. It was about something our old teacher said. I can dig these up if anyone is interested.

Other than that, English is my second language but everything I create these days I write in English first, and AFTER that translate back into my native Russian. Which sometimes makes both versions sound hilariously and confusingly broken.

I was starting to translate one of my comics into spanish but its so labor intensive and there are people who wanna do it for me.

And recently I was approached by a korean publisher to do a korean edition a few months ago.

Translating is such a tricky and nuanced thing even if you know the language your translating it into so much so that i wont even let myself do the spanish edition.

Not fully. We have a character who speaks romanian in our comic, as well as another who speaks spanish. I'm not a native speaker in either but I do my best. It really helps having other people willing to check out and correct you. Even readers are happy to help out!

i havent made any translations of my comics but ive wanted to include characters who spoke other languages though id honestly hate to have to rely on google translate ^^;;

the only language i have basic understanding of is spanish and the tiniest bit of french and hatian creole

I make my comic in both English and Spanish, but the Spanish one only goes to the comic website and Facebook. while the other one is published in more places.

It's kind of a drag tbh, but I make it mostly for the family members that don't speak English.

When you say different language, do you mean other than English or other than our mothertongue?

Cause I'm writing my comic in English, which is my second language so yea I'm always writing in a different language.

I've also worked on translating it back to Danish (my mothertongue), which funny enough is easier for me than writing it in Danish and translating it to English (there's some very interesting psychological explanaition to this phenomenon I could go into, but I'll keep my post short). Danish is also such a tiny market, which is why I started my comic in English to begin with.

Spanish is my native language, but not many people can speak it and is almost like a untold rule to upload things on english for everyone to understand.
It took me years to get to my current english level and my typos from the earliest days still make me cringe.
Still! I also made a few comic strips on japanese~

I don't have a good language anymore, so I suppose it's a yes! I unfortunatly speak bad English and bad French (and a bit of other languages, but not good enough to think of making a translation in those languages as it would be too time consuming).
My comic exists in both languages although I did not post the French version yet.

beside I grew up and I still am watching more English shows mostly from the U.S so I know more about word pun and slang in U.S English then my own language.
