There are so many interesting things that have happened throughout history that was actually like a anime series, the feudal era in Japan, the gladiator games in Rome, the viking era and much more

Even today's world is riddled with mystery, so the anime genre we exist in right now is the theme of mystery

I mean its fun to think about this right?

Fiction is often inspired by reality, not the other way around.

Guess that makes learning more interesting. The more we explore reality, the more we can get inspired to make unique and memorable stories.

All media has some basis in reality. For traditional stories with characters and settings, it'll either be inspired or directly take from something the author read or experienced.

There are plenty who'd love/are trying to be anime characters. Whether that's dressing up, dying their hair, acting quirky, ect. The current young adult generation is mostly aware of/are fans of anime, so the influence of that genre will be felt in the future as more ingrained into society.

Anime is also very broad in what it can do. It's like saying life is like a cartoon, a movie, a book. Usually it's either people fooling themselves or pretending to feel like life has a controllable narrative or they're important, or just an odd comment about the crazy things that are possible in life that they've only ever experienced in media.

Anime is just an art style. A lot of stories are based off of things that happen in real life. In fiction, you can add more fantasy elements.

You can makes the same argument about South Park or the Simpsons, but you would not call them "real people".

I think you've got things backwards.

Anime is a genre of storytelling created by humans, who are living in the world. Good anime is grounded in reality in terms of writing characters and stakes, if not esthetically.

The world feels like anime to you because you've experienced a lot of anime and not a lot of the world.

And I'm pretty sure if you learn about different places and periods in history, the world would change themes for you. Even just looking at the history of Japan itself, oftentimes anime fans don't like learning about what Japanese soldiers did to Korean women in 1940-1945 or about Unit 731, suddenly that becomes one of the worst horror stories you could ever imagine. Or you could learn about Yosuke the Samouraï and suddenly it becomes a story about hope and honour.

Broaden your horizons.
