Always happy to meet a fellow Zelda fan. Hello Charlie, my name is Victor (obviously.) I love your art and your comic sounds very interesting. I'm a bit confused about something though, is Type Masters going to feature Pokemon as well or were you just making comparisons?

Anyways, I love Zelda and Mario games as well as most racing games. As for movies I like the Back to the Future and Indiana Jones trilogies and anything from Christopher Nolan. I have my new comic Random Time Encounters but I'm not a great artist like you. My heroes just entered into a Zelda realm so I'm excited for what's upcoming.

I have a simple process for creating it. I usually start with a pencil sketch of each panel, then I scan them and trace the lines with Illustrator. Then I load those line drawings into photoshop to color everything in and add text and anything else it needs.

The Pokemon themselves aren't a huge part of the story, except for a couple legendaries. But they still make very frequent appearances!

Hi Charlie and welcome to Tapastic! My names is Deanna but I go by Cosmosgirl here at Tap. Your style is really nice, I love how soft the colors in your drawings are. I find that it's become a lot less common to see comic artists using a traditional means to color their artwork with so you're style is definitely refreshing! I used to have to do the same sort of thing with my art back when I didn't own a computer or a scanner, I had to use the school library believe it or not, so I can definitely relate! And believe me, my comic here at Tapastic is like the 3rd comic i've done already, I was working on 1 for about 7 years and just needed to create something different xD!

My webcomic here at Tapastic is a fantasy-romance genre comic known as Cosmos Song. It's done entirely digitally, so the pages are drawn on tablet using Manga Studio and colored in Photoshop. I've been thinking of one day getting back in to using colored pencils and pastels like I used to do, switching to digital art throughout the years was a good decision for me but I don't want to forget how to create things through traditional means either!

Nice I like that there are other traditional artist out there like me n I usually draw 15 pages a week but I'll soon reduce the amount cuz of the doctor saying its increasing my work level so I myt do my comics monthly soon. Plus I love Call of Duty but unfortunately school doesn't let me play like I want to.

And yes, I haven't looked around a whole lot, but I haven't really seen a whole lot of traditional comics here or on Smackjeeves. It's a little disheartening, but hearing you say that makes me feel much better about it! ;v;
And yes, I would use my school's scanner, but last time I tried to use it it didn't work! Maybe next time it might, I'll have to try it out again next time I'm able to.
And wow! Three comics! That's amazing, you're so talented! And Cosmos Song looks so nice, I'll definitely check it out when I have the time. And I think you should definitely try out some traditional art! I feel like pastels would go beautifully with your style!

Thank you very much :3! I used to really love working with pastels and colored pencil, sometimes crayon as well before I went digital. I feel like my coloring style is the same as before, just different medium hehe xD!

Yeah, it is a little sad to see the massive shift from traditional to digital. I do favor both mediums, as they both have a lot their pros. But it can be a little disheartening to see less and less traditional artists in the online sphere as the years go by.

I'm new here too, I joined about the same time, and happy to see the forums up, there's so many new people and old ones on here that are so friendly! so I'm sure you'll make a lot of friends on here.

I saw that you are Asexual/aromantic! that actually makes me happy to see someone else is! although I think often I go to being biromantic. I often use 'em' when talking to people, I get both masculine and feminine pronouns, I'm not to bothered with either one. but most people use the term "oppa" or "hyeong" for me.

I do love Nintendo games, but I also like playstation too because they recently have it sold as 'unlocked' so I can play my Korean games on it.

I use traditional medium often enough, I love my color pencils. and I draw on paper, ink then scan. Otherwise I use the computer to tone/color. most of the time it takes me 5 pages just to get a page drawn the way I want. I wish I could draw well on a tablet. lol but I love the look of your art! very lovely . and your drawings are cute! I love the facial expression in the last panel.

I have a few comics on this site but they are BL more Fantasy then Romance though, and extremely bizzar. TT.TT

People call me Kura and I currently work on No Future and Raven Wolf I'd work and a whole bunch more if I could but physical limitations and time restraints and all that.

I'm a big fan of strategy games, JRPGs and platformers. (Though other game types are pretty fun too, I just like a lot of games...)

I used to do must of my stuff traditionally, but I can no longer do traditional art because of arthritis and have been gravitating over to digital because it just hurts less.

Hello Charlie, welcome to Tapastic! My name is Dani, I'm also an aro/ace, and normally prefer gender neutrality. When I was your age I also loved art enough to want to make a thing out of it, then I realized I didn't want it to be just another source of financial frustration, but it's cool you're so passionate about it. My favourite video games are the SNES Yoshi's Island, Super Mario All-Stars, Banjo and Kazooie/Banjo and Tooie, Spyro, the Myst games, Zoo and Roller Coaster Tycoon, Eternal Darkness, LoZ: Windwaker, and I will admit to enjoying Duke Nukem Forever and Child of Eden. (there's a lot more, but I can't remember them since I haven't had time to play games since I got out of high school)
Favourite movies are Hugo, Life of Pi, Serial Mom, Hamlet 2 (because it's set in my hometown), Blazing Saddles, Kung Fu Hustle, Black Snake Moan, Cannibal! The Musical, Shaolin Soccer, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Big Fish, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Redline, Triplets of Belleville, Trolls 2, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Kung Pow, Princess Mononoke, The Fifth Element, The Land Before Time, The Rescuers Down Under, Tokyo Godfathers, Watership Down, What Dreams May Come, Welcome to the Space Show, The Brave Little Toaster, The Secret of NIMH, Paprika, and that's all I can remember right now.

I'm a traditional all the way person, tried out digital in my later high school years which had decent results(Don't click that unless you're alright with gore), but it wasn't enjoyable in the slightest so I went back to pen and paper. I normally work with pens, and coloured pencils, but my favourite colouring tools are copic markers; thanks to how the price has inflated since I was a kid I only ever us them on rare occasions. When it comes to the comicing process, I thumbnail until I get a layout I like, do a rough sketch and ink the gutters in right away, draw and ink in the content with a blue pen, colour everything in then reink the parts I want to stand out with a black pen. It normally would take about 20 or so hours if I were to do a page without any interruptions, from start to finish.
Currently I have two experimentation projects, one isn't on here and is on hiatus for revamping, and the one I'm posting here is called Void: A Guide to a Healthy Relationship. I've been on the fence about calling it a LGBT+/MOGAI comic since there's no romance in it despite the comic title, but I guess it technically is. Don't read it if you don't like NSFW stuff like blood, violence, and all that not so pleasant stuff.

It's great to see you put a lot of effort into your art and pages. Full colour comic is a whole lot of work I know and I get grey hairs when I even think about doing mine with colour pencils so kudos to you!

I'm Niina, a finnish lady, who also considers herself as asexual. I don't think about it too much, since I'm not looking for relationship at the moment or see myself in one in the near future. My nintendo experience is mostly watching other people play mario when I was a kid, but it fas fun for me. Later I did almost finish Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker and got pretty good at Mario Kart. I really enjoy games but finding time and money for them is whole different thing. I'm mostly into movies (used to be big horror buff but after a while you've just seen it all) and comics (of course :D).

I'm also mostly traditional artist, who's trying to figure out digital art, but with baby steps. If you're interested, I have two comics here in tapastic, both in mystery genre. Numb is my main project, slow burn odd story with ghostly stuff, which updates every week and Little tales is more of a collection of short stories I come up with and update there from time to time. Do take a look if you're interested!

ahhh honestly, I really need to work with pastels more! Ooh, and paint! My main medium is pencil crayon, but I should try mixing it up someday, it would be fun! And even if it does look similar, I think you should still go for it!

Yes, I've thought of myself as asexual/aromantic for a while now. Though I do feel some sort of feelings towards girls, and I'm not sure if those feelings are romantic or just platonic so ??? I'm still trying to figure myself out ahaha. And yes, I don't think much of gender. I'm biologically female, and I have been mistaken as a boy before, though I've never been offended by that. In fact, I try my best to make myself look androgynous, so then people are just as confused about my gender as I am! Maybe one day I'll figure out what I identify as, but for now I'll go with anything. ;v;

And that's very neat! I'll definitely check out your art later, I have no doubt that it's lovely! And I feel you, using a tablet is hard. I have one, and even though I've had a lot of practice with it, I still can't get a hang of it. ;v; Oh well! And thank you so much!! And yes, I honestly can't imagine myself doing anything other than art. I've placed all of my self-worth into my abilities as an artist, which isn't really healthy, but is a good source of motivation I suppose? Either way, I'm still only 16, so I still have time to think about it.
And ooh, I loved Zoo Tycoon so much when I was little! It was definitely one of my favourite games back then. And you sure love a lot of movies! I don't watch very many, that's super impressive!!

And yes, I love Undertale! It was such a nice game! And oh my god I'm so hyped for Sun and Moon!! I've been keeping an eye out for any updates or leaks, but none so far. ;v; oh well.

And it's so nice to meet so many asexual people here! It makes me feel much more comfortable here. And yes, when I was young I always used to watch my sister play Nintendo games instead of actually playing them! Sometimes she'd get so irritated by me hovering that she'd make me leave. But I would always sneak in and watch from a hiding place, I just really loved the games that much!
You seem like such a lovely person! I'll definitely check out your comics sometime, they sound super cool!

I tried a few times and couldn't figure it out till I finally read the post about it not working. I thought I did something wrong when I tried to log in. I am sure you will, seems like a lot of nice people are here, and I'm actually happy to be a part of the forums. most of the time I'm in a cave, and to shy to say hello. but I'm doing my best to get involved with things on here, so I can meet new people with interest the same.

I understand, I'm not really a romantic by any means sometimes, but I use biromatic, although I probable more in my terms of usage is 'very close relationship' not sexual by any means. so it's borderline platonic to me. dress how you want you'll be fine, I wear baggy close a lot, more comfortable for me. but sometimes I wear a dress or skirt. never anything that is fully one way or the other.

thank you for that, I hope if you do you'll like the story. like I said it's far from popular, but I like drawing so I share when I can. but I have a bad habit of warning people the story and all is a bit off. I finally got a pro 4 and the tablet is wondrful but because I'm used to a certain page size it's still hard to draw on there being the dimension are so much different.

It's nice to have more of us in the comics scene when there's so much sex/romance-focused comics to be found (I'm hetero-romantic, but romance itself is so... blah.)

Your art is looking really nice! Do keep it up! I think it's cool that you're doing traditional art; I think having a good background in traditional gives you somewhat of an edge when you move into doing digital. Though you don't have to do digital at all if you don't want to.

As for me, I like all sorts of games from Harvest Moon to Silent Hill D: My tastes across all things generally swing from cute and sweet to dark and creepy. I'm the kind of girl who will wear a cute flowery lolita outfit while listening to death metal.
I used to be a primarily traditional artist but have been doing a lot of digital lately because it's faster. My first comic was all traditional, but my latest project Centralia 2050 is almost entirely done in photoshop. Though I really enjoy doing watercolour illustrations on the side.

Anyhoo, I hope to see you around more! Everyone here is so friendly, it's a little overwhelming haha.

And yes, I feel you. I have no interest in a sexual relationship, but something romantic or platonic seems fine for me. But I just don't like the idea of being in a relationship, so I really don't know what to think. Oh well. And yes, I often wear baggy clothing too, it's much more comfortable for me. Though now that it's getting warmer, I can't wear my favorite sweater anymore! Which is really disappointing. ;v;

@Michelle Hello there!! So many new asexual friends, I'm so happy! ;v; And yes, I feel you there! Reading comics that are heavily sexual or romantic has always been an uncomfortable experience for me. In my own comic I plan on having only a few established relationships, and I don't intend on there being any explicit scenes between the characters. It would just be really uncomfortable for me to draw, y'know?
And thank you so much! I thought that I would maybe get a bit of negativity for having a traditional comic, but it seems to be the opposite! Thank you so much!! And I do digital art every once in a while, but not a whole lot. I'll have to share something digital someday!
