My twitter advice is to avoid any and all discussions (specially politics) One way is not follow people that do that stuff.
This is off course if you want to use it to promote your work and want to stay sane.

i heard that this changed recently and rt'ing your own stuff is okay now??? mostly because the format/UI changes wont really show the whole thread anymore making "bumps" essentially useless (i've noticed it with other folks who do it actually) honestly though i think both can still be beneficial since it's getting eyes on your stuff at different times of day depending on the usage habits of your followers

participating in community tags or events does help a lot though and can introduce people from other art circles to your own stuff

"#artshare" is also becoming a big thing (or at least it looks that way) with a pretty big friday art share that happens most weeks as well as just different support threads where you can post art comics or whatever your doing and share other folks stuff too

oh as for my own link it's @vibrantfoxart4

I've gotten a lot of help from #artshare threads and a couple Follow-Friday shoutouts- they help a lot! I try to limit myself to only posting in one or two a day cuz I see them all the time - though I love going through and following some of the artists in those threads and sometimes I get followed back.

They're SUPEr helpful

Im really bad with twitter so I don't have any followers at all but https://twitter.com/duckuoo8 is mine!!

I get embarrased alot so somehow its hard to put myself out there but I guess tags and interacting with others is really the way to go (and something I should try do more)

I think of a lot of social media tricks as mostly like - things in a toolbox that can be used when necessary sometimes #'s sorta undermine the authenticity of a post, other times they enhance it. It's about knowing when to use the right tricks for the right task.

I self RT as the last push on a picture, but I mean just single bumps on the next day or if you screwed up and posted on a dead hour. I also try to sometimes put process or interesting details from the picture, and that seems to help get some eyes on posts. After a few posts there's not as much return, for sure (and I had to unfollow someone who'd just constantly bump the same things or self repost several times in a week because most of the timeline was them), but it works for just a tiny push.

Artshare threads are great and helped me tons! Twitter shadowbanning people for RTing everyone in it, though, is not great. People said the best tip if you host one or try to push lots of people on it is to reply as much as you can so Twitter doesn't see it as spam, but not too sure about it.

ahh i wondered what was causing art folks to get shadowbanned but that makes sense, hopefully the reply thing helps

Heck I'll keep that in mind! Also leaving nice comments for the artists you retweet is always a + anyways

My old ass (in use since 2012) Twitter account which is a mess, because I don't know how to efficiently use it, but I do it anyway. Lost of tweets in two languages, my drawings and retweets of other people's art, animal videos and stuff I find funny.

I feel like I'd have to make an entirely different twitter than my "main" one. I don't really use the platform (not sure how to) and end up using it to get HQ shots from the games I play since FB lowers the quality of screenshots sent to them - ANNOYING. i'm @hito0ritabi5 90% of the time it's FF14

My username on Twitter is @Sidenax. I'd love to network over there, so be sure to add me if you're the networking type!

I mostly post art on twitter, sometimes art RTs, or just some art/book ramblings. With the nature of my industry (can't post finished artwork until a book is published), it's extremely hard to show what I've been working on. So I'm trying to post regularly with character sketches and stuff. To remember doing that, though, is a beast of its own...

@nostalgicroxas oh hey, I play FFXIV too! great game!

I'm terrible awful at twitter. I only post whenever i publish an episode and then share it in twitter, and i also forgot to add hashtags. Even in instagram or deviantart i perform better than twitter (and i suck at those).
