Okay, I will tell you a secret. To draw like in the anime, you need to draw, a lot. Coloring is drawing too, you need to learn the skill. You don't make a good comic by combining a bunch of photos and screenshots and free stock materials

I think that you should look up a tutorial for medibang online on how layer blending options work. Options like add, color dodge, overlay and similar things are tools you could use to really make your magical seal pop.

You don't make a good comic by combining a bunch of photos and screenshots and free stock materials

The only exception to this rule is a "so bad it`s good" kind of comic, but that probably is not what OP wants.

If you don't have Clip Studio Paint, I really recommend it. It has thousands of free comic assets that you can use like tree brushes or cloud brushes. It saves a bunch of time! They have magical seals too. To get access to them, you need to have CSP though. It's around $25 on sale for the pro version. I recommend doing a subscription first (you can get three months free trial). This way you can test it out to see if you like it! And also by that time, maybe another sale will happen!

I second what @toruchi is saying.

CSP is pretty good with offering assets you can use for your comics, and they generally show some steps on how to use them. I use assets often for my backgrounds. Granted, I doctor them up so it doesn't look noticeable, but it saves me hours of work.

Galaxy scenes? I slip in space backgrounds, change the hues a bit, use a star/planet brush, and there we go.

Flashbacks? I reuse older panels.

Yes, it helps to practice drawing more and improving your skills. But if there is an easier way to do something, I say do it. Especially if it's going to be a reoccurring theme in your story. Hell, I've gotten to the point where I just started to make my own custom crowd brushes for scenes.

Well, I'm not gonna make any without payment, because I am a freelancer, but if you want inspiration you can download this book, which has really good info in magic symbols based out of many different cultural traditions and their meanings. It also delves into symbolism, and what those mean in different contexts. It's a pretty old book, so its free on the internet and I find it very helpful when making magic item and symbols for my comics.
