How did you make your comics logo?

I've been (slowly) working on a comic for a while but I'm trying to get more serious with it and build a website for it. I want to make a new logo for it so I'd just like to know how people have gone about making their logos for their comics. If you could describe the process, name the software you used or give me the names of people you've hired to create your logos, that would be nice. Also provide a link to your comic so I can see the logos you've designed. Thanks everyone.

I also did mine in illustrator! Originally I had a hand-drawn/photoshop colored one because I was hand letting the comic, but pretty early on I re-lettered the comic digitally and made a vector logo.

(usually I just use the word, the bottle and stuff I use on stickers and the website banner but I don't consider them part of the logo)

I wanted to go for something that was simple, but also kind of quirky, so the letters are drawn out and not a font. I really like it because I can change colors and take out shading and really par it down and it's still recognizable because of how the letters sit together.

I just used SAI for the artwork, and GIMP for the lettering. Honestly it's just a short story, so the logo / text itself wasn't as hugely important to me as it was just making a nice banner overall. That and just making sure in some form that the font suited the story. Still not 100% on it, but I wanted to just get shit done (got booked into a local comic con and needed pages out ASAP) so this is what I have. I'm not into super fancy fonts as it is. I like simple stuff with only a little flair or decoration. Too much detail is too hard to read.

I did mine in Clip Studio by using a free font as a base and then tweaking it a bit and adding some frills. I'm sure doing it in Illustrator would have been better, but a.) I'm not great at Illustrator, and b.) I don't have it.

If I draw the font from my own design, then I sketch it in Clip Studio Paint, and to the rest in Illustrator. If the letters are from a pre-existing font, then I do the whole thing in Illutrator.

i used a pencil on paper. then moved by scanner in to PS. colored and it was done.
about the idea,i tried to stay more close to the main character, moving colors and features (like the stains for examples) in the letters...

I started researching Medieval fonts and manuscripts, then sketched several ideas by hand. Once I had one I liked I sketched it digitally in Sketchbook pro, then took that into Inkscape where I made it a vector. I am thinking of refining mine a bit, don't really like how the S looks. For the new version I have a sketch on paper and will be cleaning it up in Illustrator.

Although I studied logo making in art class, I've never been very good at it. Fortunately my brother, who designed the website for my comic strip, surprised me by designing the logo. It was a simple matter of using a photo editing software (probably Photoshop) to put one of my black-and-white drawings against a background and then color it. The text can easily be added as another layer. If you look closely at my cartoon character, you can see right through her into the background!

I made mine in Photoshop.
I didn't do the lettering myself, because designing my own font is a bit too challenging for me.

For my logo I searched for a strong all caps font, I wanted all letters to be the same height. I found one called "New Athletic" which I found fitting because my comic is sport related.
To make it more of a logo and less just a font I added a little snowflake because my comic has a winter setting. Also gave it a frosted effect with a textured brush.

For my comic's logo, I made it totally from scratch. I did a rough sketch of it on paper first, then used the dreaded illustrator pen tool to turn it into a vector. The "shenanigans" part is the font I use for my dialogue, which I created from my own handwriting using this site.

How you go about designing your logo can vary greatly depending on your comic's title. If it's more than one word long, are the words on different lines? Is one word bigger and more emphasized? Maybe you'll want more than one version of your logo, such as one that has the full title on a single line for your banner, and one with the words stacked for book covers and other vertical layouts. Making sure your logo can fit wherever you plan on sticking it is important!

Although, if you are considering hiring someone to create your logo for you, designing comic logos is something I've thought about. So feel free to talk with me about that if you're interested!

For my series Despicable Heroes Avalon's Collection.
I was also doing the same for my series. I've made a website which still needs more work, and my logo. I actually had a logo for two years. I drew a lot of things for my series while in high school. It wasn't until after I graduated I began to upload my stuff. I use Photoshop when making my logo or pretty much all my art.

My old logo compared to my new one I redid last weak. The story of my series revolve around a team of superheroes who may do things in a non-civil way. So the words Despicable was to be bold as to show this is what the populace thinks of them. Gave it a nice plaque feel to it, as if you could hang it on a wall. The sticky note is just the heroes putting it up there themselves to remind people that they aren't just assholes.
