Hi!

I'm getting ready to start publishing my first comic here and on Webtoon, but I am encountering some difficulty with canvas size. The maximum size canvas that my ipad pro is 800 X 16384. I know that there are much longer episodes posted both here and on webtoon, and that a lot of other artists use procreate. I could split the episodes in half and just do shorter, more frequent updates, but it would mess with the pacing of the story, and with some of the visuals. Are there any go arounds? Do I need to get another program to upload images from procreate to and splice together multiple procreate canvases there? I've tried tinkering around and I'm super frustrated so I would really appreciate any suggestions!!

Thanks!

Why don't you just use multiple canvases to draw your whole episode (they don't even need to be that long) and then cut the images with croppy? Unless I didn't understand what you meant...

I have been making panels on individual (much smaller) canvases, and then putting them together into a longer canvas. But it won't let me make the final canvas longer than 16834, which isn't long enough.

Also this is maybe a silly question but what is "croppy"? Is it an app? Or just a phrase I don't understand? ((Newbie here))

Well I can't help you with the canvas size problem bc I've never used procreate, but unless you reaaally want to see the whole episode in one canvas I recommend just drawing it onto smaller (like cut your episode into three our four canvases depending how long it is) parts and then using croppy. https://knicknic.github.io/croppy/7

it can seamlessly cut your episodes into smaller images fit for webtoon or tapas, then you can just save your pictures (no need to download the zip file) individually once it's done and upload all the pictures to tapas/webtoon to make a seamless, long episode ^^ I hope this helps~

Ohh ok I might be misinterpreting your comment, but do you mean that when you upload comics to tapa / webtoon, it allows you to upload multiple files that become one image after they are uploaded? (I haven't even gotten to the point of looking at the actual publishing page so don't even know really basic things yet.)

Thanks for taking the time to respond to this question!! I appreciate the help & friendliness

Yeah, that's how it works! I think tapas allows... 40 files per episode? So you really don't need to have one long file, but rather cut your episode into smaller pictures, upload them in the right order and they'll appear as one long episode.
