So I'm more into comics now but I used to write alot and a big part of it is just write what you want to write if a chapter isn't working then load a new draft and start again at a different angle, write poems or oneshots or shitty haikus go on one of those writing prompt sites and look for something that inspires you or go onto weird stock photo sites and write a story behind them - they don't have to be good, most of them wont even see the light of day.
Set an alarm for a time where you could be writing - spend like 15 minutes doing what you can and if you want to do more do more and if you don't don't.
Write in a journal if you can - physical pages feel a lot more rewarding than numbers on a screen sometimes and if its taking too long to fill a page just write longer words - is it better for readers - no but this isn't for readers its for the beloved word count.
