I am wondering how can a novel have 9 views, but 283 subs and 460 likes on 2 episodes?

deffo bots. the author is likely cheating lol

if you're suspicious, tag a mod for sure

Report the novel for spam

EDIT: Also - this can happen. When I upload a new work, I sometimes get more likes or subs than views. It evens out eventually once the algorithm catches up. But if it's more than a few hours old, it's most likely a bot and needs reporting.

I am not sure how, sorry. When I click on the author's name it gives me 404 error

A few days ago, I found a person with 8 subs on their profile. When I did click on the subs though, it showed more than 89 pages, each page with 20 subs.

It should be possible but that account doesn't have more than one story, and that story has only two episodes released just this month. But the task bar on top of the subscription shows a lot of stories there. I was so confused.

If you received an error when clicking on the creator, they were likely already banned.

But feel free to link the series so we can take a look!

I think I can see how an author with little content here can have a LOT of subs but very few reads. I know at least one author here who is a kinda-big YouTube channel & when they announced publishing a comic here, a lot of YouTube followers flocked to Tapas to see it.
I'm assuming that they could sub without actually reading anything yet. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, but to like an episode, a person needs to open an episode, and that should generate a view.

Also, by some reason, it seems to affect Spanish-language novels. There is almost always one with no view count, but lots of subs and likes on popular list.

There's only one explanation...

SPANISH SPEAKING GHOSTS! :fearful: :ghost:

You're right. That's the only logical solution. Who are we going to call?

Oh, I forgot it was October! No, I was wondering of there is a simple innocent explanation, like they are accessing the stories through some other app or something. I hate thinking they are cheating right away, plus, they have comments on the chapters too. So, it's just something weird that doesn't count views properly? B/c normally you would have 10x views at least to likes ratio, and that's if your readers are not shy, heh
