How do you feel about fanart of your comic/novel?

Honestly, I love it! I've received quite a bit of my Stellar and it makes me happy that people like my series enough to take time out of their day to draw my bbys.

The only time I'd dislike it is if my ocs were used in a fetish/porn story or anything offensive. (This hasn't happened though, thankfully!)

I have a whole folder in my google drive where I store and cherish my fanart and guest art.
I'm okay with most stuff, though I do draw the line on fetish porn

I really love being on the receiving end, but getting fanart comes with the expectation of giving that person a written response.

I personally have a hard time translating my feelings into words. I don't want to come across as ungrateful, but it's hard for me to express my gratitude sometimes. Really can put me in an uncomfortable position sometimes

I dont know what kind of content creator acts petty when someone takes time out of their own day (or even days) to work on a fictional character they could have made of anyone in the world but chose theirs and still act like an entitled punk bitch about it.

I personally encourage any kind of artist to draw artwork of my characters no matter what they want. I had a brief period when I started where someone sent me porn of my characters that bothered me at first, but now I feel stupid about it now that time has passed. The fact to me is someones taking time to work on my characters so I should really be grateful no matter how it turns out. Only thing I dont like is that im too small to really give back to those people as far as shouting out.

First time I ever received a request for someone to draw my characters was when @drcharlotterodricks asked if she could do a special episode in her comics as a collab. Her little fancomic collab is the first ever I got and it's so cute! I love it :3 I did one of hers as well, she even allowed me to draw her characters as animals, which was super fun. After that, there have been a few of my subscribers asking if they can do fanart of my characters. It always makes me feel honored and I just love each and every fanart I have received. I didn't think I would ever receive fanart to be honest since my comic isn't extremely popular. I always assumed only comics and novels with large followings get fanart, but now I know that's not entirely true. I am grateful for all the lovely subscribers I have.

Like a lot of others here, I am okay with most kinds of fanart but incest is a big no. And extremely sexualized is a no for me too. I do read NSFW comics and novels, but I have a sensitivity about my characters. Even I don't draw my characters sexualized or NSFW stuff (implied and dirty jokes, I have done, but nothing explicit) because I feel uncomfortable about making my characters like that and just drawing that kind of stuff myself in general. The only time I drew nude individuals was in school for art class. I felt awkward about it then as well xD I am thankful the fanart I have received has been so fluffy and respectful ^^

As far as Nsfw stuff...I think once someone's work makes it to a certain level of fame, its inevitable and cannot be stopped.
I just don't want to see it.

I enjoy fanart when i do get it and I'd love to see more but I am definitely in the group that would be uncomfortable with suggestive/inappropriate fanart. Obviously I can't stop folks if they do so I try to be upfront about how I feel when it comes to those things, especially if it's a character that happens to be a minor, that's 0 tolerance.

Thank you for the tag here. I was so dejected cause I was struggling to draw red & Gray so I went and complained to my mom, and she suggested I make them my own without them losing their originality. Also even though you were the first to get so hyped over this collab which lead to me getting overexcited, I got really overwhelmed and cried for a straight 15 minutes when @rifftiff featured my characters in her comic .It was a little surprise for me which I was unaware of and I even saw them at the bottom of her comic

I love fan art I love getting it and I love doing it. One of my friends surprised me with some and I only cried for 10 minutes haha. Someone also offered to draw me some and it was the BEST THING EVER. Like, I was blown away.

I don’t mind more...spicy...art if they’re situations my characters might be in anyway the only thing that will irritate me is if they’re whitewashed or something like that.

I love drawing fan art because it’s an opportunity to try out new styles and techniques and work on my skill. And I like brightening people’s day 🥳

I've always felt the same of fanart. I ADORE it.

Like if I ever big shiny spongebob rainbow "MAKE IT" I want people to be able to sell fanart at cons and answer those fucking nerdy questions people have about my work.

Fan art is, quite possibly, the best thing that’s ever happened in this world. It makes my heart happy to see other people invested in a series to the point that they become inspired to create. Getting fanart was pretty much peak achievement moment for me
