Folks seem to think it's weird it's a little weird how far ahead I schedule.
Anywho, my novel isn't at all scheduled.
My comic, however;

and though I haven't started prepping it on tapas yet, this guy's probably being published Sept. 2025, but I don't have much yet;

So! How far do you all schedule-- if at all?

I don't think it's weird. I think you should schedule ahead however much you would like. I do my best to schedule at least a week ahead at minimum just in case anything happens. Anything longer than that I think is even better. If you can prevent having that pressure build up to need to write to keep up the pace, it's not going to usually end well.

Wishing you good luck on your road to Sep 2025 publishing and your cover looks awesome too :thumbsup:

In my case, I've never made episodes ahead, just started and been making as I go. I try to post an episode around once a month. Usually I'd post on a Thursday or Weekend, so say I've finished making an episode by Monday, only then I'd use the schedule option after uploading the panels.

But I guess you probably have a grasp of time needed your episode making process? and maybe scheduling far ahead gives you enough time for technical issues you may encounter?

I still haven't got a grasp of production consistency for mines, as I'm still balancing things in RL and delving in 3d and inclusion of various simulated elements like fur, fluid, cloth it's always a RL plot twist when technical issues arise :joy: I got a better grasp with my 2d skills but 3d not so much, so imagine when I'm more comfortable in the various aspects of 3d I might be able to average the production of episodes further ahead :thumbsup:

I've already made a plan for the release schedule of Ch03. The idea is to release the 1st set of pages on may 27th 2025, and then release a new set every month, for an entire year, dropping the finale on may 27th 2026.

But all of that hinges on me being able to finish pages in a timely manner haha.

And I thought I scheduled way ahead... cant really hold a candle to OP lol

ideally, I schedule as far ahead as possible so I don't miss deadlines. I try to have a buffer of at least 4 weeks. I've eaten through most of them rn because of creators block on my novels, but on my comic I have several weeks buffers stocked up (it doesn't debut until November tho). My second novel "A Dozen Morning Glories" is on hiatus so imma try to build it about 8 weeks buffer before it comes out of hiatus again. My main novel has only 3 weeks left on the buffer. Mega-yikes.

I used to go week by week, but I get overwhelmed easily. So this time I went ahead and did 26 pages of my comic before even promoting it.

I’m scheduled out to mid January 2025. Would have been further out but I lost a month due to a broken elbow.

I guess it depends, but I just posted the first chapter of my new novel as a test, and scheduled everything else I have so far for start of next year. That’s a personal choice because to me this story represent next year in many ways, in my mind it’s tied to 2025 so wanted to wait till this year was over ^^

Since my comic has standalone episodes, I don't do scheduling, though if it's that important, I would schedule them where it is needed. (Haru and Tsukasa will be ongoing until I'm on my deathbed.)

For my many future series, I plan on scheduling them so I can work on other things.

I would love to have that much on-deck and scheduled. I burned through my buffer during the Action Fantasy Tourney, and am now playing "catch-up" on Apparent Secrets and Of Lowlifes, Lutes, & Liars. I typically like to have three chapters scheduled, but the frequency of uploads for the contest was too grueling for me to be more than one or two chapters ahead at any given time. :sweat_01:

I totally agree with that!!!

The best I could do with my project, :cry: otherwise I would have been like a few years ago, I felt so overwhelmed that I couldn't continue with a series I was working on.:disappointed_relieved:

I used to schedule 4-6 weeks in advance which is equivalent of one chapter per month for me, but that was back when I had a lot of time to draw.

Now it's a little difficult to get around to creating only because I have other things to do as well. Hopefully in a couple months things smooth out and hope to release one chapter every 2-3 months if possible.

However, to give a realistic answer. I just release my chapters whenever I'm done with it. :T

I’m already set for next month since I'm planning to take a break in December and live my life outside the digital world—so typical of me! With a full-time job, scheduling this far ahead really helps me stay balanced and organized without feeling too pressured. After all, I don’t want to end up hating what I love to do. Cheers to all the writer's out here and keep doing what you love :beers:

When I started my comic, I intentionally drew the entire first chapter before I started posting, giving me six months of buffer. Sadly, most of that buffer has since depleted...
