How long did it take you to get to 1000 subs on Line Webtoon?

took me about 3 months on line webtoon, but I do a horror comic which is lovingly put into the "other" category with the romance toons. it's tough going against those dang romance toons...

I'm at 658 subs on Webtoons and 105 on Tapastic. It seems to be part random and part comic itself. For both sites the genre I put it in is Slice of Life but I might try and change it to fantasy to see if there are any drastic changes next update.

Well, yesterday was my 1 month aniversary on webtoons and i am currently at 130 subs...its not as insane as some people here in the comments, but i think its an good average for a sci- fi comic, which appears on webtoons in the "others" section.
as far as i can tell it has an exponential increase in subs, so each update attracts a littlebit more people than the one before...

It didn't exactly take me long. I got about 400 within the first week and I only updated a few times but then I had to go on a long hiatus because I moved and I had to rebuild my buffer.

We've been at this for less than 6 months and we haven't even broken 200 subs but it's not really surprising given that we're not in a very popular genre (namely sci-fi). We were gaining subs regularly right up until they changed the algorithms on us and since then we have barely made much ground. That and we're trying to compete with a market that is heavily invested in romance and drama.

It's been a bit disheartening not going to lie but the community here and on other mirrors has been so warm and encouraging it has kept us going.

I think it was a matter of weeks, or possible a couple of months, but 1000 subs on Line is not the same as 1000 here. People are pretty fast and loose with their subbing there.

I don't remember when exactly I got 1k subs, but on my 9th update I posted a "Thank you for 2.3k subs!", so based on that information... It took about 8 updates over the course of 4 months to get 2.3k From the first episode, I think there a few comments saying the art drew them in. Also my comic is in the drama section, so that probably helped? Some people said it would do even better if it was in the Romance section, but I don't feel that genre really suited my comic.

Oh, and I've read posts about sci-fi isn't really popular genre... I'm just... frustrated.
Tell me please, do I have any chance to became featured or to get more than 23subs on my comic if it has a similar book format? I mean, the pages are near A4, not vertical long-reads. I've tried to compose two my pages vertical and to upload'em like one long-read episode. But nothing happened, and I think that I can't cheat the audience or algorithms this way, can I? Or can I become featured if I have a simple book-format pages? Tell me please...

for all the people panicking: my comic on tapas has 2.3k after a month and a half and it still only has 200 on webtoon :’) just because it doesn’t take off on one particular site doesn’t mean it’s garbage or never will, could just be genre and luck
