From start to finish, how long does it take you to fully complete each chapter?

Also how long is each chapter?

Can you finish it faster if you really pushed yourself or is your art speed maxed out?

For me it takes about a month to finish 15 to 18 pages. Could probably do it in 2 weeks if the only thing I did all day was drawing. Also working solo so I wonder how much faster I'd be if I had a team.

If nothing happens irl, I can finish a chapter in about a month- one page a day is a normal drawing speed for me without causing a burnout.
I could draw quicker, I think I'd be able to draw two pages after work and 3-4 a day during weekends, however I don't really see a point in that. Maybe even more, but I get a burnout by just thinking about it hahaha
That being said, I usually draw slower, as sometimes I don't feel like drawing at all, and sometimes I'm too busy with other stuff to do. Also, I draw much quicker during the colder half of the year as I'm mostly sitting home, while when it gets warm it's time to start 'meeting friends season'. Usually I have all weekends and some week days booked for meeting my friends from other cities during the summer, so less time for comics. But again, that's okay.

Oh god. For me it might take me two or three weeks to write 1,000 words :cry_01: Or if Im in the writing mood and all of the conditions are correct, such as family is gone, then it'll take me an hour or 30 minutes. The biggest thing is that Im such a critic when I write I cant help but stop, ask if this is correct, and then DELETE EVERYTHING.

It takes about a year to finish a chapter, last one took two years thanks to getting a labor intensive job with long hours. How long each chapter is varies, I go by scene rather than page count so it can be short or long. If I dropped all adulthood responsibilities, and really focused, I could finish a page in 3-4 days. Otherwise it takes about a week or more, depending on how demanding life is. Plus I try not to overdo it because I'm normally on the edge of burnout anyway (Not because of drawing, but because of everything else.), and I really don't want that to happen.

About...20 hours haaahhh. I do a little bit before work everyday. It adds up quickly, but I just started. I'm learning how to draw, panel, write, letter, pace all at the same time :sob: so it's taking a lifetime.

My chapters now are about 10 panels. :sob::sob::sob:

Oof. Uhh.. let's just say, 'a very long time'.

I try to update my webtoon monthly, and so far episodes have been about 25-35 panels long with this artstyle:

Needless to say, it's very labor-intensive. I'd be scared to find out exactly how many hours it takes to complete each episode.. and see just how much of my life this project consumes.

Between work, school, my (albeit sparse) social life, and my other hobbies, I also don't have a ton of time to devote to it. I'm sure I could speed up my process significantly if I decided to prioritize my comic over all else, gave up my other personal/professional commitments, sat down, and did nothing but draw. Or if I simplified my art style- or maybe found a partner to help me produce it. However, I don't feel I can (or want to) do any of these things at the moment.

So, for now, my story crawls along. :']

For 3 days sharp, my chapters are 20 pages long, so I make it work while still being consistent, the key is to make reasonable hours for yourself pre page as long as you aren't on a tight deadline, but all and all go at your own pace and get used to things. And avoid the block!

If you don't count the preproduction, I'd say it takes me a week to make at least ten panels per chapter (with all the effects and speech bubbles). I'm a newbie comic maker so please don't shame me about how slow I work. I also have a full time job so I can't really devote all my time to making my comic. Fully aware of my speed, I do spend some of that time thinking how to present the chapter in a minimal amount of work for maximum impact (or still telling the story). It also helped that I had a month of preproduction. My comic revisits a lot of locations often so I prepared the 3d assets for them, sometimes even making them myself.

Gonna add in as an author and not a comic creator..

A long chapter can easily take a week to write, it depends on my inspiration and ability to world create. When I speak long chapter, I am saying about five thousand words maybe six thousand.

A short chapter I can get out in maybe two to three hours, speaking about two to three thousand words.

Edit: With my adhd, school, and tennis a chapter can take easily two weeks to make (even a short one). Empathize on the ADHD part.

It takes me exactly a week (10 to 15 pages) , and there is no shortage when I think I have finished and there is something that does not convince me, a dialogue, a hand, something that does not work. I really get mad at myself and when I'm going to publish it, I just hope it's cool, consistent and interesting but sometimes someone tells me I have something to fix and if it wasn't for that person I wouldn't know "where" I'm going wrong.:laughing::laughing:

My chapters are about 40 to 50-ish pages long and they take about a month or two to get done. Could I get them done faster? Probably‐‐ but I'm comfortable with this pace.

4 to 6 months on average but i do try pace myself so i dont burn out so much

Okay, so I started posting August last year, with 8 strips up and 3 in the buffer so ... a little less than a month per strip? (Which is like 4 panels per strip so not much, but I do have an 11 panel strip in my buffer and they'll generally approach that length as the story comes in to focus :P)

I haven't exactly tried pushing myself, but if you look at my drawing 'spurts' in isolation, you might think I'm fast (e.g. I'd get 2 panels done in 1 day, then faff around and do nothing for the rest of the week XD) Maybe I can sustain something approaching that pace if I tried? I don't wanna though :stuck_out_tongue: When I faff around, I might not work on my current comic, but I do still get creative stuff done like brainfarting ideas for my other projects and trying to compose leitmotifs for characters who won't show up until 2 arcs later XD

I think it's best if i just resigned myself to being a flaky little shit. It might impede my current comic's progress, but I think my future self will thank me for having those little bits and pieces in the bank when it comes time to work on those ideas :'D

It usually took me 10 days to finish a chapter (20 panels) :sob: I know I'm flipping slow.
But if I get a sudden motivation, I can finish one in a week  Still slow ngl.
I wish I could draw faster...

I still don't know how long because I'm still on my first chapter!

I planned for 24 pages and now it's 72.

When I first started, one page or about five panels could take me a week or more. Sometimes a lot more!
As I got more used to drawing on my new tablet, I could cut it down to one page every 2-3 days. I bet/hope I can cut it down to 1 if I really try.

But I got really sick recently so now production is at a standstill.

According to my calculations, it takes me roughly 4 months to complete a full chapter. Every single chapter I've made took the same amount, because I have around 20 pages to ink and I approximately do 6 pages every month.

I'd really love to do a page a day, but with study and life in the way, I really can't. Also, I plan on remaking the first chapter, which is meant to have double the amount of pages an average chapter has and it will probably take me 8 months! :scream:

My chapters are ~20 pages long and it takes me from 4 to 6 months to finish one.

I am now on my current 1st chapter, the prologue is 56 pages long and it took me from 8 to 11 full days to finish a page because of all the details I have to make such as these, and they are panels:

These are only small samples.

It took me a whole year to finish the prologue, I wouldn't imagine the amount of time and days it will take to finish chapter-01.
