How long shoud the first chapter/episode be

Hello to anyone who finds this topic.
So how long should a webtoon first chapter be? Ive written a 200 panel episode and see that most seem to have at about a 100. Well, some. I havent checked all that many but based on the pattern (50,30,70,100 etc) is it acceptable to post so much for the first chapter?

On Tapas, shorter episodes are more accepted than Webtoon (though I've heard Webtoon might be softening a bit on them) so base it on what sort of panel count you can do while updating weekly. With me, that's two full-colour pages stacked into a long-scroll, usually about 6-12 panels.

Imappreciate both answers really. Also i will draw in black and white and only chapter 1 will be this long the rest i am looking at somwgere between 20-40

As for me, I usually have an idea but I also tend to follow the story. once I have up to 20 or 25 pages with 3-4 panels on each page, that usually seem to be enough however, if I feel like there needs to be more explanation, then I'll add one or two pages depending on what I'm trying to explain.
The goal here is to make sure you have visually explain what you need to explain and if the chapter drags to 30 pages, that's also fine as long as it all makes sensens and ties into the story.

I like 30ish panels. It's long enough to tell the arc of the episode, short enough to produce in a week, and easy enough to script out in a day. This all depends how often you are uploading. Are you weekly, monthly, or whenever? It's better to have quality over quantity in my opinion. Plus webtoons seem to be for quick entertainment, I don't think people want to scroll through a 100 panel first episode.

Also note that there's a file limit for each episode (100 files, 1280px max height per file for Webtoon), so chances are you're not gonna fit 200 panels into one episode without making it super cramped

Its technical things like that that I was mostly looking for. That actually helps. I feel like I can divide my 200 panels into 4 chapters to be honest now that i look at it. It seems to have good cliffhangers on about every 45-50 panels so might actually turn out well
