How long will your comic go story wise?

When I created Gallant Witch I didn't really have a goal to where I wanted to end everything. But now if everything goes well im thinking of ending my story around 300 chapters worth but only the future can tell. How long will your story be?

My story is 5 books, each of about 30 episodes. As its weekly, that puts its at 150 weeks, plus a 4 week break between books so another 16 weeks. All told, just over 3 years.

I honestly think 2024 or 2025.

There's just so much stories I wanna tell. I introduce a lot of crazy concepts. For example (might want to click on the first one to get full picture):

My story runs like a 3 hour anime movie so I already know the entire story and pacings. For full fledge it's 3 manga format volumes, 35+ chapters, I think.

I don't like to tell how long I would work on this since I'm slow, probably over a decade. (sweat)

But if things happen to me disruptly in the future (pessimistic), I want to be able to finish, for the minimum.. just 1 volume, which at least covers 2 acts (13~15 chapters) that wraps up a story arc) I can still die happily, but with regret.

My comic is intended to be 11 chapters, but I'm debating about making it 12 because there will be a lot going on in the last 4, and I don't want things to be too condensed or have chapters that are too long. I'll feel things out once I get to working on them.

I think my story will take at least 8 years to finish and probably at least 300 or so episodes based on how much time we get to make it

Glad you asked! That Stick Figure Isekai is actually the first of a quadrilogy. The sequels won't be about stick figures tho and it won't be continuing Naota's story; rather, I'll be exploring new characters.

My main series, The Action Fruit Society, is set to finish its series run at the end of August. After 5 years, 4 seasons, and 104 episodes.

Other than that am currently working on another series Typhoon, which will run more like an anime in terms of story arcs and plot development. It’s still in the early episodes of the first Arc. I won’t begin to perceive when the series as a whole will end.

Well, I started writing my story all the way back in 2017, but only picked up in 2019. I wrote it with the initial idea of ending it by chapter 68/70 and... well, you guessed it, I kept going! I'm not going to tell precisely how many chapters I wrote, but I can say they are more than 100, which is something I hadn't planned in the beginning.

This is just the script though! The manga seems to be going for a much slower pacing and I've added lots of scenes that weren't present in the original draft. Sooo, I'm afraid I might as well arrive at 300 chapters, who knows XD

Honestly, I have no clue. I currently have ideas for five main stories for the Hopetale Saga and a whole butt-ton of lore stuff.
A Fresh Friend
The sequel to that
A third book focusing on the Dreamtale twins but also majorly featuring their teammates
A fourth book about various different PAPS! Also, a lot of Ink and Error
A fifth centered around little PJ
And that's all I can think of right now. It's going to be a wild ride. Each book is going to be about 12 chapters long, so pretty ambitious. Also, Shatterswap is going to stop at one book.

I had mine planned out as 4 books. Length is variable in each.
Its all planned out from beginning to end and I have it played out like animation in my head.
I always thought to myself to do something that starts out like a gag strip that evolves into something with a bit more meat to it.

First is kind of a gag strip, mostly introduction to characters.

Second (Worth) segues into less gag orientated and more world building and character development (with a carpet pulling moment at the end).

Third (Regret) is revelations and more of a low point by the end.

Forth (Content) starts out on a low point...and...well..I cant say.

My current script is around 200 pages. 18 pages of script equalled to 100 pages of comics so (my script is super condensed and I don't plan panels and pages in my script)

I've sorted my script into 22 chapters (with all the chapters being 40-50 pages long) and I've planned for 6 volumes. This could change in the future, it depends.

At my current rate, I finish around 3 comic chapters a year, it will likely take 6-8 years to complete my comic. This is also factoring in that I take more than a month off after every chapter.

Tbh I don't know how long the story will be to read! It's not short, but it's not super long either.

Mine hopefully won't be too long, but we'll see about that. Atm it's 15 episodes long, 16 when this arc ends. After that there will be 2 more arcs, one being the longest (probably between 10 and 20 episodes, but there's a lot I wanna cover), and the other one being the shortest (closer to 5 episodes). And that'll be the end of the story with something like 41 episodes. I do have plans for stuff past that point, but I feel like I'm better off cutting the story off there unless I'm REALLY interested in making more

I've only just started this year and only have finished one chapter (36 pages) but I am expecting it to be at least another few dozen chapters, and all of those will be longer than 36 pages lol. I also have a ton of room for side stories or other aspects of the setting. I expect to work on the main comic for at least a decade, and could probably work on side stories or other related projects until I die!
