How many chapters do you plan on making?

Frankly, I don't know, I don't like to put like a number for it, I know how things will end, I know how the end will be, but I don't know when exactly (this sounds like prophetic xD)
Because if I put a number, later I might end up not having enough to put all the situations and I might put everything quick, and I prefer to it to the story to tell me when to end (if you understand me)
For exmaple, I had in mind to put certain events for chapter 2, but they ended up for chapter 4.
But, like dreaming, I would like to reach 50 chapters

With Soul Ascendance probably around 84 chapters for the first season and as for the second season around 70 so probably 154 chapters in all ._. making this series is going to f***g kill me holy st...

I'll be honest guys, I think I would prefer reading a story that has an actual ending rather than one that might carry on indefinitely. A good send off is still a very important thing for story.
I'm thinking about the long-running shounen manga and really after a while it loses its spark, MAYBE if you plan it well enough you won't fall into a trap of using the same formulaic structure but for reals, sometimes you do just want everything to be tied up and finished. I stopped reading a lot of comics and manga because either it was incomplete and didn't seem as if it'll ever end.

I´m making 2 comics at the time.
The first one is Ryu Kaze, I know exactly what´s going to happen up to chapter 13, and I know thar that is far from the end.
The second comic is Domando fieras, a collaboration between two amour sucré fans. The fanfic is now at chapter 24 and don´t seems like it´s comming to an end soon.
I can see both comics like onepiece (LOL)

Honestly it depends on where my story is at. If it gets more followers and gains more attention its going to have more, if nothing is gained than it would be short. I plan on making at least 50-70 chapters, but realistically i don't think i would get farther than 9(depending on the pace i go and what not).

Oh man... Well Burning Bright is broken up into seven part (volumes, I guess). It was always gonna be a long story, and right now in the script I'm on chapter 47, and I still have one more whole part to write. So to anyone who's read and subscribed... hope you're prepared, because this is just the beginning!

@SandraMJ - I have an outline for Grassblades, covering everything from beginning to end. It is, however, more than a little vague at certain points, which allows me to flip and change things around if I need to, add bits I want, and subtracts the bits I don't need. I'm estimating 25 pages per point in the outline as an average, as some of them will be a lot shorter, others will be a lot longer. But since I don't have a set chapter-length, or any solid idea of how much space everything is going to take up, my estimate differs 250 pages from lowest to highest point.

I do have unlimited ideas for all of them (if I had a time-turner, I'd be drawing Grassblades forever!), but I'm only drawing the ones relevant to the story.

Well that's a great question, and honestly, I'd love to just draw their whole lives, but I'm aware that I have to limit them somehow It's just a bit hard for me to do.

@annalandin I generally imagine their whole lives from the beginning to their end, and then I want to show everything from the start of the story to the end... but of course I can't, so I sum things up for the sake of the story. I'm terrible at planning sniff

I used Flipnote Hatena to draft the episodes... It has 107 episodes atm, (Still not finished)

I estimate its gonna be like 100 chapters or more, for the way I'm drawing the comic...

Like many said here, as many as it takes. I don't feel the need to be decided on a length for a slice-of-life comic but Life Less Ordinary will prob end up being more than 30 chapters if I want to get to everything.

Devour though, that'll probably be a more modest 3 chapters unless I come up with more story at some point.

I hadn't really planned EXACTLY how many chapter Vatican Assassins was going to be, but I feel like 74 is a good number, with each being as many pages as it takes to get the plot of that chapter done. ?For example, I just finished the chapter 10 storyboards, and never expected it to be 40 pages! But that's how many I need to tell the story of that arc.

I'd focus on what plot points you want to cover and how you want to cover each one. Make sure you give yourself enough time and space to wrap up everything you want to convey. It's no good to just cram everything into 30 chapters, if it would be better as 35.

With 12 chapters I definitely feel I need to condense stuff sometimes.
But I do it so I'm not "stuck" on this project forever!
It's already taken 3years to get where I am at now.

Now it's all about focusing on essential plot points and pacing events in the story!

I plan on creating 14 chapters or infinite for pretty tobyn and pretty kate. But for you, i suggest a little one shot or so.

I ended up starting a very long series with http://m.tapastic.com/series/VastBlue. I was inspired by long series such as DBZ and Naruto when I made. Looking back I kind of wish I made a smaller scope series like Akame Ga Kill or Kill la Kill lol

I have around 12 chapters planned for both my series with something special planned for those last 4 chapters. Though I plan on doing more. I'm currently in chapter 3 for Jonny Comic and chapter 2 for Valve Comic, so I have a long ways to go

I regret not making Trash Talk a one-shot.

I initially just wanted to draw my dream scenes, but they happened to be spread out between many chapters. I did a lot of thinking, and I fear that it would be as long as To Aru Majutsu no Index, at least before its NT volumes. In other words, very very long. o<-<

Well I plan on Demon House spanning the length of a year in the characters' timeline. Not sure how long it will be exactly, I've got the first half pretty much filled out, and some important happenings in the second half written, but it will need padding.

As for Heavy Horns, it's roughly 6 or 7, at about 13 pages/episodes per chapter.

Grogthor and jennet will only have 3 chapters, they are ment to be a short lived series... now if i can just start drawing chapter 2....
