How many episodes do you have finished in advance?

As someone who uploads weekly, I like to have some episodes extra finished. This way I can still upload weekly even if I don’t have time to draw every week.
But I’m curious how far ahead other people work. I usually have 7 to 10 episodes ready at all times.
So please let me know what it is for you!

Around 3-5 at least in advance. Sometimes more if my day job gets less busy and need to overtime less.

Yeah, I’m too impatient to wait to upload. How many page sketches I’ve finished in advance- now that’s another story. Also shows how impatient I am. When I get bored I just start sketching for new pages

I'm ashamed to say none, though a LOT has been drafted/completed up to coloring for my current way-too-long episode. Just need to render.
I did have a huge buffer last year, 3 months worth of short pages/episodes. Didn't get anything done(lazy, and some real life stuff).

I prefer working close to the release date. Better to light my own fires and put them out weekly.

For tapas, Episodes 1-17 are being rolled out from other platforms. I am currently working on Episode 18, but after that, no backlog.

I'm currently working on chapter 12 and uploading chapter 10. So im about 56 pages ahead. I upload one page weekly.

I'm not sure if that's a big back log or not lol maybe I'm just paranoid of my uploads catching up to me​

I have about 2-3 chapters finished in advance because I don't like the thought that I might not finish a chapter on time!
Even with some finished chapters stored, I'm still nervous.

I have the entire novel done and beta read... plus the second book in the series.

I didn't want to post it anywhere before it was done for several reasons:

1. I change a lot of things as I go and don't want to be like, "Oh, never mind this thing I said happened eight chapters ago; actually, this other thing happened instead."
2. I don't want to start posting something, then lose interest in it and leave readers with an abandoned story.
3. I wasn't sure if I wanted to try traditional publishing until I was done drafting.
4. When I'm actively writing, I do it for ~8 hours a day and don't have time to do things like posting and promoting. I like writing way more than I like those other activities, so I have to be between writing projects to spend any time promoting or otherwise interacting on social media, etc.

My goal is five, I currently have 2 finished in advance for my novel, and the first comes out this upcoming Friday. But I can write a chapter a day, so hitting that goal is pretty doable.

I have a years worth of scripts but only half a story drawn because

1. Drawing comics takes farrrrr longer than writing them. Even if you do multiple drafts.

2. My province is swirling the toilet bowl and every time I get into a workflow I need to stop every few days to take long trips into the city.

I currently have none in advance! Kinda a big mistake on my behalf really. For the second chapter I'll take a bit more time and do a load together to make it a bit less stressful for myself

At the moment there are 2 scheduled for release (February 1st and March 1st), but after that Chapter 02 is finished.

I've kinda given up on having an actual upload schedule and just release them when I can. With Chapter 02 I've kinda experimented with blocks of 3 epidodes, which seems to work. The upside is, updates/episodes are big! When I first started releasing Chapter 01 over on Webtoon, I tried to have a consistent schedule, causing me to have episodes of 3 to 4 pages. hated the fuck out of it tbh. It breaks the flow and ruins the reading experience imo. (that's why Chapter 01 is divided into 4 episodes over on Tapas, rather than the 30 it is on Webtoon)

Oh, I'm really very grateful to myself for finishing 9 chapters, I still have two more chapters to edit before I officially publish the comic I plan to work on this year.

I've been drawing 11 chapters for five months. The reason is that I don't have enough time to work on them, so having a story like this, it helps me a lot to divide each chapter into two parts, so that would be 22 updates for the moment, enough time to continue with the next part of the story.

Please, as a big tip in life, if you want to publish a comic or a novel, have at least a good percentage of your story in advance. That will help you a lot.

It fluctuates, I try to make 3 pages per week and upload 2 so that means that the backlog should always be increasing.at it's height I think maybe 12-14 pages or 6 or 7 weeks of backlog. I'm back down to 4 pages of backlog or 2 weeks because I went on hiatus for 2 months.

15 episodes ahead for my novel so far in case I fall into a slump. My aim is to finish a new episode for every one that is released each week or write a paragragh at the very least each day.
